Having learnt about the Montessori approach I find that some of the approaches are at odds with Webster-Stratton's suggestions. Not quite sure how I feel about this one -- it veers between "that's a good idea, we should try that", "thanks, Captain Obvious" and "no, that has zero chance of working". I've been on 3 other parenting course in the past, including 123 Magic (that turned out to be absolutely useless! My Son's Dad and I are no longer together, so he's currently got my copy while I use the CAMHS copy. That can still be useful, since even when the book gave advice I already agreed with, I often noticed afterward that I wasn't following the advice as often as I'd thought.
