Photograph: James Norbury Big Panda and Tiny Dragon features two friends who often find themselves lost but overcome life’s obstacles. They explore new lands, encounter extraordinary experiences, face demanding challenges, and, ultimately, find contentment. but this one is contained of a journey (the reasons or destinations, were not quite mentioned) with small inspiring quotes. At times, I did find myself wondering whether the author was trying to cram too many reflections and lessons into the book, with Big Panda seeming to espouse elements of Buddhist philosophy on one page and Hallmark sentiments on another. His first love was animals and he studied zoology at Swansea University, wanting to become a park ranger, but finding a job proved impossible. Although content in their temple high up in the mountains, Tiny Dragon realises that something feels incomplete.

It is spring by the time they emerge - they'd gotten lost in the swirling mists and had fallen asleep under glittering stars. As they encounter dangers and challenges, they learn that everything they need is already inside them and that change, though sometimes scary, is possible and, with patience, can lead to better things. Verder vind je op Sophia Magazine artikelen over onderwerpen die jou kunnen interesseren: werk, geld, liefde, relaties, schoonheid, mode, gezondheid, reizen, wonen en uitgaan. Inspired by Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, James Norbury has captured in these whimsical characters the ideas that have helped him through his most difficult times. This is the tale of a cat wise in the ways of zen, journeying to discover a fabled ancient pine, under which infinite wisdom may be found. Some people have even said they didn’t take their own lives because the pictures had given them new ways to look at things. Told in a gentle, calming style, The Cat Who Taught Zen introduces a new cast of characters for readers of all ages to fall in love with, offering timeless wisdom wrapped up into a tale of beguiling beauty. I was reminded of " The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy, as the approach is slightly similar – characters interacting with each other in a bond of love, friendship, support, acceptance, and encouragement.
