I've always hated books or movies related to political corruption, conspiracy theories etc, maybe because i hate politics in general. I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. Author added information that was not really necessary to the plot and as such it wasn't really adding anything to the story but word count. A couple of this author's novels have already been adapted and brought to the screen and I would be amazed if "The Mother" doesn't follow suit. A compelling story, beautifully-drawn characters and writing that leaps off the page: We Begin at the End is in a class of its own.Although the overall pace of the novel could not be described rip-roaring, it is certainly never dull and always compelling.

It had lots of twist and turns to keep the reader guessing and I didn't guess the ending before it was unfolded for me which is great.At the Mail I became the paper’s Science Reporter, covering all kinds of stories from new technology to the environment, space, genetics, health and medicine. This would definitely make for a very watchable mini-series, but in the meantime it also makes a wonderfully readable and riveting novel. Tim Logan has succeeded in creating protagonists that it is easy to visualize being part of the real world and this is enhanced by well-written natural and appropriate dialogue. Liam is no more and upon questioning the evidence all points to her and soon to her shock she is arrested and charged with murder and locked up. THE CATCH, about a father convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets, has also been made into a TV drama for Channel 5 starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton (screened Jan-Feb 2023, available on My5).
