In the TV series, Agatha is an English supermarket worker living in Sydney who ran away from her Jehovah’s Witness home aged sixteen after she was raped by a religious elder and became pregnant.An excellent psychological thriller, written in the alternating voices of the two women, which works really well in giving us insights into their characters and feelings and deceptions. Meanwhile, Lorelei finds she's gone a step too far, but will a visit from the police be enough to deter her? Some aspects to this story might have been a little unrealistic but all in all I don’t think it really mattered too much and I was able to just accept it for the wonderful story that it was. Thanks to Zoeytron and all the excellent reviews posted by friends and followers on goodreads that led me to this book.

But the greatest shortcoming of “The Secrets She Keeps,” which becomes clearer with each episode, is how the series fails to progress Agatha and Meghan forward in terms of interior development. From the beginning, this book kept my interest and after the first major twist I had to find out how the story would end.
