If you have the setup and a big enough TV screen and good vision it’s pretty simple why cinephiles want films in their best possible presentation. Wearing elaborate body and facial prosthetics, Fraser makes Charlie a real person rather than a circus freak. The sound effects of Charlie eating pizza, crispy fried chicken, grape jelly, and crunchy chips are all natural and enhanced to sting the senses. He also got nominations for Best Actor at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards, 76th British Academy Film Awards, and 95th Academy Awards.The stellar spark of red in Sadie's hair is a welcome color addition that brings a sense of warmth to it. I'm not dying to see the movie again anytime soon, but I will get it on 4k just for Brandon Fraser's performance. The Whale is not an easy movie to watch but it is poignant and eye-opening which leaves the audience touched and uncomfortable all at once. He’s incapable of the most basic activities and can’t even lift himself off the couch, get into bed, or answer the door without heaving himself onto a walker.

Dealing with grief, loss, and empathy for others are the key ingredients that make TheWhale swim beautifully. Though it keeps sympathy on the side of Charlie, her performance becomes irritating because of its one-note histrionics. The whole cast and major crew talk about making the film with an emphasis on the characters, their emotions, and where the story came from. Brendan Fraser and Darren Aronofsky bring to life a movie full of empathy and love in The Whale which is one of the best films with a stellar cast that is set in one location.I want this so bad, but this is shot at 6K and finished at 4K, and I know Criterion or someone is going to drop a 4K disc soon.
