About this deal

I had never read her work before, but I was drawn to read this book because the title really spoke to me, and I wasn't disappointed! Quite a few of the poems I found fit that bill - paintings brought to life, but not all of them lived up to that personal standard. Wiele z tych słów doprowadza mnie do płaczu, bo czuję jakby mówiła mi je moja ulubiona osoba prosto z serca, a jej notatki tylko bardziej rozgrzewają moje serce. They’ve published four best-selling collections of poetry including When He Leaves You, You’ll Come Back to Yourself, Please Love Me at My Worst and Poems for the Signs. Some few were really great, some were terrible, there was one about how "a tree is the best version of me" that was fucking ridiculous but for most of them I just didn't care as they had nothing to do with astrology.

What makes holiness in the Wesleyan way unique, however, is its clear emphasis on a holiness of love: love of God and love of neighbour (all creation). I always loved the beginning of each chapter with the sign and a poem of items/feels that reminded the poet of the sign. I enjoyed the astrology themes and that each section of poems dedicated to an astrological sign really seemed to care about more than the surface level assumptions and stereotypes of the signs. It’s beautifully written and the author manages to talk about astrology in a way that is so sensitive and empathetic. Some of the poems are really good but a lot of them feels like spoken word that are formed and indented to make it "look" like poetry when it is just.

It was fun thinking of how the poems really fit with the signs I know more about and I appreciated reading about the signs that I’m not very familiar with. It also involves exterior actions – opening your arms to those around you and offering compassion to those in need.My favorite was probably the Virgo chapter, where it's suddenly all about being a feminist and having mommy issues, like it's somehow a universal experience for all Virgos to not get along with their mothers. I find astrology very interesting and though I won't judge you based on your zodiac sign, I do ask what you are just out of curiosity. I guess it tried to give something that lacked from the beggining and I couldn't connect or feel anything, but good thing it's easy and fast to read.

Some of the poems spoke to me and were okay, but I feel like I am just at a different place than the author is at this time in their life and their work was less relatable to my experience, however, I still enjoyed reading about their personal journey. The Lord Jesus “stretched out his arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of his saving embrace. Fall into this collection of poetry and prose inspired by healing and being open to love again, perfect for fans of Rupi Kaur and Courtney Peppernell. this is such a great book for anyone on a healing journey, discovering themselves, and experiencing a safe and warm love. We want to make sure that we're producing resources and content for all the great things our churches and communities are up to over Advent and Christmas.Angemeer's description of her experiences with lost love and grieving is exactly what I needed to reassure me that I am not alone in these feelings. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone battling heartbreak - it understands the sadness of it and helps you wallow, and then it helps in encouraging you to move forward. The grieving, the loss, the letting go of love; then to heal from the heartaches of living in this brief space of time we have. From the best-selling author of You'll Come Back to Yourself, Poems for the Signs is a highly anticipated collection that explores the twelve astrological signs through poetry.

It wasn’t too heavy of a poetry book and there was a fair amount of poems I could relate too and thought described how i’d felt before so well. In the Christmas story, we are made acutely aware that there was no room for Joseph and Mary to rest when they arrived in Bethlehem, in the more traditional places reserved for hospitality in Jewish culture. As we engage in the Wesleyan practice of making room for all and celebrate around the table, we capture a glimpse of God’s beloved community in which all are welcomed and all are loved. As part of the Methodist Church, we seek to demonstrate our open, inclusive and welcoming nature by saying to all people, 'There is Room' for you.Because of their length, they felt more like instagram captions or tweets rather than poems in a poetry collection. A beautiful poetry collection on childhood trauma, healing your inner child and all the ways platonic and romantic love can mess you up. Charles Wesley perceived the connection between inclusion and our family meal: “Come to the Supper come . she’s a genius and she uses her words in various ways that catches the readers attention with every line.
