This is a hilarious and heartwarming story of a group of toys that were left outside one summer night and soon become true friends and brave heroes. And as evidence against the idea of consistently reading books at a particular time of year: read in February and July. I would definitely use this book to boost the class up when they begin to leave the room a mess or not pick up after themself. I had to stop half way through because it couldn't hold my attention between 7 different toys making comments in speech bubbles, and the vast amount of spot illustrations and and text boxes over full-page spreads. Read the story aloud to your child and enjoy it together stopping to talk about what happens when your child wants to discuss the pictures or what is happening.

The book is about how toys become realistic over the night and seemed to be in space with an alien which they thought was a normal star.I plan to use this book to explain to our library visitors that we can find things in the library because they are well labelled, and show them title, author and barcodes. Things to make and do Make a collection of toys and have a go at describing them together like Wonderdoll does, for example a thoughtful green dinosaur.
