This is an innovative design and if you are going to pick the kettle up before it has finished boiling whilst steam is coming out, well what can I say? It makes a nonsense environmentally of traditional kettles that boil water to 100c unnecessarily, only to then cool down and waste the energy.

We suggest that water up to two hours after being boiled, around 80°C, is still at the optimum temperature for a cup of tea and that the water after four hours, around 68°C, is the prime temperature for a perfect mug of coffee. I tried knocking it over to see if the "leak-proof stopper system" would prevent scalding water from splashing everywhere (reviewing kettles is a tough job, but some foolhardy idiot's got to do it).

The Vektra Vacuum Electric Kettle attempts to solve this problem by combining an electric kettle mechanism with a vacuum jug, which keeps water hot for up to four hours after it's boiled. It may seem impatient of me to celebrate that when according to (very approximate) statistics, the average kettle takes just one minute and 27 seconds to boil enough water for two cups of tea. The new touch-control base displays the current temperature of the water in the kettle (so you will know straight away if the water needs reboiling). They won't submit to the wasteful expense of putting on the heating until they can make stalactites with the garden hose, yet the kettle seems to be in almost constant use.It’s the perfect appliance for a lively household with children, a fast-paced environment such as a working kitchen or office space, or even a moving vehicle such as a camper van or boat. It is heavy and because the lever on the top needs to be pressed to pour it is too awkward for me and hurts my hand to do this one handed. Bought this Kettle May 2018 and LOVED IT but after only a year and a half it has broken (it broke 2 days ago Oct 2019) so whilst this is an amazing kettle, I have to give it one star for its reliability.
