In view of the fact that this material has been discussed before and pretty much universally found to be wanting, I would regard it as irresponsible to suggest that the material is in anyway suitable for his application.

Creeping Crack Cure – A Full Review Captain Tolley’s Creeping Crack Cure – A Full Review

If you took the time to read my response, Phoenix, you would see that I DID answer the OP`s question, and I have used the stuff. You did indeed, but my point was that you then also answered another question that had not been asked. I beg to differ. I had a minor leak and it did cure it. The van was still dry when sold some years later. I really didn`t want to reply again, BUT, I thought the idea of a forum was to exchange views and help each other, but perhaps like Ian Dunning I am also mistaken.I most humbly apologise, but the original poster did mention a fact other than the original question. That fact, in my opinion, was worth comment as I have had experience of this whole sealing issue. If he does have a leak, it certainly wont cure itI beg to differ. I had a minor leak and it did cure it. The van was still dry when sold some years later. FAO Admin - Sorry if I have stepped out of line here, but I felt I had to answer Angus. I will not respond again in this thread. Knowing first hand of the damage (potentially terminal) of leaving a leaking van in a porous state, I would regard it the height of irresponsibility not to make a fellow forum member fully aware of the threat to what may be their pride and joy.

Maybe I should just shut up and let, potentially, expensive mistakes be made? That is not my idea of helping people but I think we should let this subject return to the topic, I'm in agreement with Angus in that I believe that the whole awning rail should be removed before using new sealant. It's not a major job and it will ensure that all traces of moisture and other dirt/contaminants are removed,
