these two are soulmates, I adored reading about them so so much. the love they have for each other is truly one of a kind and very refreshing to witness. the ending was so special, I genuinely had a visceral reaction at how adorable and heartfelt these two are. Julian truly is a top tier book boyfriend, he bought her a HOUSE to make her happy and give her a purpose in her life!!!😭🩷

Though, after Zahra found out and her and Rowan made up it brought this incredible line But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one? Falling in love was never an option. At least not for me. that being said. i liked the moments i liked... if that makes sense. if i could cut all the useless shit out of this book, the way this would be soooo good. it had the bones of a good book, just Lauren Asher needed to decide what she wanted this book to be. slowburn or insta-lust? then the grumpy-sunshine, the workplace aspect with forced proximity and the boss and employee dynamic, the talking online but not knowing you know each other in real life...

Julian was absolutely wonderful to read because his personality and his absolute undying loyalty, care, and admiration toward Dahlia and his family were extremely admirable. 🩷 but when he apologises, Rowan basically declares how obsessed and infatuated he is with Zahra, how he can’t think of anyone else but her. how she’s makes him a better person. blah blah blahhhh... then when they have sex right after, Rowan tells her this can’t be anything more than causual between them? The MMC is a billionaire grump that doesn't trust anyone but him. The FMC is an employee with a sunshine personality, who gets along with everyone.Anyways, lazy recommendation aside...I came into this with the right set of expectations because I knew this was a romcom. Iris also has an amazing relationship with her grandma and mom, who are her strengths and is such a wonderful person because of them both. Iris has also has a fantastic relationship with Cal, who is her best friend and it was rather entertaining to see Declan be jealous of this relationship, with Cal and Iris teasing Declan when they’re together. Readers also enjoyed seeing Declan around her family dynamic since he lost his mom at a young age and he doesn’t have the greatest dad in the world. Caring about Iris was never part of the deal. Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.
