Description

Cobain's mother, Wendy, filed for divorce in 1976, but the couple's marital troubles actually began to increase in ferocity as early as the second half of 1974. At that time, Cobain’s father Don changed jobs to work as a clerk for a company, earning less than he did at the gas station. The couple often argued about having to borrow money to pay the bills, and Wendy eventually filed for divorce due to financial problems. Michaels, Sean (July 24, 2014). "Courtney Love considering host of new Brad Pitts' for lead role in Cobain biopic". TheGuardian.com . Retrieved September 19, 2023.

In May 1968, when Kurt was fifteen months old, Wendy's fourteen-year-old sister Mari wrote a paper about her nephew for her home economics class. "His mother takes care of him most of the time," Mari wrote. "[She] shows her affection by holding him, giving him praise when he deserves it, and by taking part in many of his activities. He responds to his father in that when he sees his father, he smiles, and he likes his dad to hold him. He makes his wants known by yelling loudly at first, then crying if the first technique doesn't work." Mari recorded that his favorite game was peekaboo, his first tooth appeared at eight months, and his first dozen words were, "coco, momma, dadda, ball, toast, bye-bye, hi, baby, me, love, hot dog, and kittie." The writer provides certain facts in a mix with perfectly cut descriptions. These descriptions make it possible to recreate the complete picture of Cobain’s life. Finally, it is also important to state that due to Cross’ special style the book is easy to read and comprehend. He tells his story in a very natural way.He lived in Olympia with his girlfriend at the time, Tracy Marander, who supported them both by working in a cafeteria. Cobain didn't have a steady job, so he naturally didn't have a steady income. He usually slept until noon, ate something, and then played the guitar for hours.

However, the book is shaped by the self-interests of the widow in question, the controversial Courtney Love, who would like to wash her hands of anything that may have played into Cobain's suicide, such as the affair she was allegedly having with Smashing Pumpkins vocalist Billy Corgan. That's understandable, but hardly makes for objective reading.Satu lagi: jangan bunuh diri. Dosa :D. Apapun masalah yang lu hadapi, seberat apapun masalah yang lu pikul, masih ada Tuhan yang bakal nolong kita kalo kita bener-bener berusaha dan berdoa. Tuhan kita baik, kok :-) percaya, deh.

I try to imagine what I would have done if the idol of my own teen years, Tori Amos, had committed suicide while I was in the midst of using her music and voice as a resonator for my young soul. I would probably have sobbed in grief silently under my bed covers with her album on repeat, or maybe I would have smashed her cds on the street in effigy at the betrayal. Whatever the physical actions, I know for sure that the piercing and torturous scream in my head would have been:A fascinating read that manages to be respectful . . . and also critical. The short, unhappy life of Kurt Cobain now has its worthy biographer.
