Through its 'Climbing Higher' vision, the Welsh Government has laid down the fitness gauntlet by setting the target of seeing 90% of children taking part in regular and frequent activity by 2020. 5x60 is rising to the challenge by helping to create the environment necessary for children to take part in extra curricular sport and physical activity on a regular basis. The Activities At St John Lloyd, the Young Ambassador Movement links in with the 5×60 Scheme, where the decision has been made to recruits Sports Ambassadors and Sports Apprentices. There are currently four Ambassadors from year 11 who will represent the school on a county level and the eight Apprentices from year 9 will help promote sport and be the voice of Sport in school.

In addition, the 5x60 Officer recruits older pupils and sixth form students to help deliver sessions. In return for their commitment and dedication to the project, coaching courses are arranged and part funded for them, which allows them togain valuable experience and vocational qualifications.
