But I really don’t consider that a “Fix”. And it isn’t anywhere near as useful and intuitive as Harmony’s Help button. In fact, I’ll bet you’re super confused from what I just wrote! So…yeah…try teaching THAT to your mom – haha We has been involved in technology research and development for more than 10 years, and our Boss is well aware of the common flaws of universal remote control products currently on the market. Motivated by this,he created his own brand: Sofabaton and dedicated himself to exploring, developing, and improving this industry to create a better experience for users. I made sure I updated the SofaBaton right away, before trying to do anything else. The iOS software is decent - not great, but decent. When updating the remote I got a popup stating something along the lines of "do not reconnect to the remote for 5 minutes or you could corrupt things." That was a bit disconcerting, but otherwise things went fine.

Sofabaton - X1 - Universal Remote Control,

So I wish Devices on the X1 screen could just be hidden entirely. All of the customization of buttons and choosing which commands show up on the screen is really only in Activities, anyway. Short and long-press options for the hardware buttons only exist in Activities. So it’s an Activity-based remote, for sure. Note that when I had difficulties, I also tried it on my primary home theater system—a Roku TV with an Onkyo AV Receiver. Again, there were issues with switching inputs on the Roku TV. Worse still, the AV receiver model was not in the database. I tried to use the original remote to teach the hub the commands, but I quit when it didn't learn the power command. How many times will the remote control synchronize after pressing off button for a long time (high probability); The setup options for the TV and devices are confusing. You must determine their power state, with the choices being: The design of the Sofabaton X1 remote is relatively simple. On top of the remote is an off and return button. The return button allows you to toggle between Activities, Devices, and Set (should be Setup). Many people have complained that the Return button is too high, and you need to shift your grip to access it. I don’t mind it because I rarely need to access my devices, so I like not being able to press it accidentally.

Sofabaton X1 Programmable Universal Remote Review

scrolling a rollerball and pressing it, and a list of advanced controls for every device can be found I have some 3rd party IR blasters I use with my Harmony remote which are compatible with the SofaBaton. These blasters work fine with the Harmony, so I plugged them into the SofaBaton to see how things worked without having to move the blaster heads. No dice - the blasters work fine, but the signal is just too weak to work from the blaster positions. Sofabaton hammers at providing customers with an excellent experience of using smart remote that is brimming with gratification, merriment, and more importantly, our clients may get the simplified advantages when indulging in the joy of multiple-electronic equipment at home. Our Value Uphold Integrity The app device add/repair button is synchronized to the remote control, and the remote control will display one more button;

So, it’s been a full year with the Sofabaton. I am sure you are curious if I still have my Harmony Elite in the loop. Well, I do, but not so much for me. My wife still prefers the Harmony remote. It’s not that she doesn’t understand or can’t “get” the swing of the Sofabaton. It’s more that she is accustomed to the Harmony and doesn’t see the need to go to another remote. If I disconnected the Harmony and all we had was the Sofabaton, she would be able to navigate it all. The hub was in screen sleep state after being used for a period of time, and the system is upgraded to automatically reset to be used; The Sofabaton X1 Hub and remote control come with a hub and a remote. The hub sends out command signals, and the remote sends commands to the hub. The remote has an extended LED screen that displays a home menu with the options Devices, Activities, and Set (up). The screen is not a touch screen, so you use a scroll ball to choose the activity you want. Sofabaton spares no effort to research and develop electrical remote control to compatible with various of devices. Lastly, the remote is tough. I recently got a new puppy, and he has had my Sofabaton X1 in his mouth several times with nary a scratch. So I can confirm that the finish on the remote is tough as nails. Our Take: Part TwoAlthough you can select devices on the remote's LCD screen, you can't simply use the remote as a universal remote to control the TV or other device. Pressing the OFF button does not turn off the TV or the home theater system. Each device must be added to an activity. Hi all, I wanted to share my experience with the SofaBaton X1. I am a long-time Harmony user, and have had a Harmony Elite for years. I decided to give the X1 a try and had a pretty negative experience.

Sofabaton - Contact - Universal Remote Control, Sofabaton - Contact - Universal Remote Control,

I have vowed to use only the Sofabaton X1 for the next month so that I can give it a test. So far, I like it. Once I had the Activities set up correctly, no issues arose. Devices started, and inputs switched correctly. I know that some people hate the fact that you have to wake the remote with a button press, but for me, I find that scrolling the wheel is an intuitive motion, so it’s a non-starter for me.Some of the iOS software is nuanced, and you have to carefully look at what at first looks like a simple statement is actually an option that can be selected. It's not a horrible interface, I think I just need to get used to it. So I am not going to lie; I was very disappointed when Logitech finally announced it was killing the Harmony line of remotes and hubs. Although they had teased killing it for years prior, we Audio Enthusiasts never thought this day would happen. Anywho, so here we are, and Harmony is no more.Enter the Sofabaton X1, the only hub-based remote on the market that anyone is talking about.
