This riotous hour, packed with signature Roustabout silliness, will have you tapping your toes from start to finish! This is a book that fearlessly exposes the hitherto unexposed connections between rubbish, the endless tons of domestic and commercial waste that we produce, and dinosaurs. Meanwhile, underneath the piles of rubbish that he left behind, dinosaurs start to wake up and come out to the surface. This book raises issues which are now familiar, yet were unusual for a children's book at the time it was first published.

The story transcends far beyond the words, used with great economy, to create it, so that it has an almost poetic quality; the ideas inside bursting from within the boundary of the pages.

When they are not reviewing or studying the arts, they'll be directing student theatre containing plentiful physical theatre and writing gritty short stories. As well as illustrating many of his own books, Michael has illustrated over a hundred books for authors such as Shakespeare, J. Explain that a sandwich doesn’t suddenly appear, it has to be made, and making it is a step by step process.

There are many themes to explore in this book, but the striking theme is the environment and what people are doing to it.

A book with a large theme, an ecological fable whose central message is that the planet is home for all those who inhabit it and that all have a responsibility for its future.

This lesson is the start of a sequence on Everyday Materials which will teach your child about the uses of everyday materials including wood, plastic, metal, glass, brick, paper and cardboard. When I pressed him, he said, “Is it about the planet being a mess because dinosaurs poo all over it? Presented by Roustabout Theatre, Dinosaurs and All That Rubbish is an imaginative adaptation of Michael Foreman’s environmental tale with dancing dinosaurs, fuelled by rock’n’roll. This show, packed with signature Roustabout Theatre silliness, will have you tapping your toes from start to finish! Daily Reading: Choose books for reading, mixed up with games and other activities aimed at the level of your child from the Pearson site. The language is simple and direct and the warmth of the pictures, in particular those depicting the kindly, caring dinosaurs, contribute enormously to making this a hopeful story. Spelling Seeds have been designed to complement Writing Roots by providing weekly, contextualised sequences of sessions for the teaching of spelling that include open-ended investigations and opportunities to practise and apply within meaningful and purposeful contexts, linked (where relevant) to other areas of the curriculum and a suggestion of how to extend the investigation into home learning.

It is also useful to use to practice SATS style questions for Year 2 working at greater depth and within. The art in this book was lovely, however I didn't like the story and I didn't really get it at the end. I think I liked this book mostly because I’m an adult who understands how important this books topic is.

Though the text is fairly simple, this book should be for 6-7 year olds, as younger children may not be able to understand such complex environmental issues.
