And there’s no way for the lid to fall or be knocked off like other brands that have a bulky lid that sits on top of container. For the past 30+ years, I've had acrylic/plastic/glass containers with wood/plastic/glass lids with seal.To open just do the opposite and turn the dial to the open lock position and the lid will easily lift off. When I was trying them out they felt cheap; it's hard to explain, but just unnecesarily bulk for the mechanism. I've had them for several years and they still work great, dishwasher safe and still work perfectly despite fairly frequent use. Not have all the packaging makes my pantry feel a lot more relaxing, and the clear glass makes it easy to see what's in it.
