We can't say for sure whether this was a decision motivated by costs savings or not, but our educated guess is that the two sensors don't differ that much in price nowadays, so we are leaning more towards this being a deliberate design of functionality choice from Xiaomi. In any case, we personally like a side-mounted fingerprint reader. And while that point is purely subjective, the reader on the Redmi Note 11 is very fast and perfectly accurate in purely objective terms. We have literally no complaints about it.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is as large as the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and they both look alike. The new Note 11 Pro 5G has a similar 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh that sits on top of the same dual-glass IP53-rated body. The grill is there as an extra direction to output sound from and is not fully milled down to the same depth along its entire length. That casts a bit more doubt whether the top speaker is a full-sized one. Regardless, we think the dual grill setup is a nifty addition since it makes covering up or muffling the speaker nearly impossible.

Good for data but less so for photography

The last two years have been tough for the industry, and the next months are looking even grimmer. This is probably why the Redmi Note 11 Pro isn't such a major upgrade over the previous generation. The same can be said for other mid-rangers, too, like the Realme series 9. The phone can capture good daylight images, a cut above some at the price. It also has a notably fairly effective night mode that dramatically improves low-light images —it’s a proper computational mode, where some at the price have a limited effect. The power button on the side is also a fingerprint scanner. It has been fast and reliable in our testing: no complaints here.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s 8MP ultra-wide is passable, but its images are a lot softer up close than its predecessor’s 16MP ones. No surprise there. There’s also an obvious drop in dynamic range, and you can’t use the Night mode in tandem with the ultra-wide. This camera is based around the 108MP Samsung HM2 camera, seen in a bunch of phones including the Xiaomi 11T Pro and Honor 50. It’s a solid, but not top-end, camera sensor. We found that while this phone and the old one are reasonably evenly matched, this one seems to deliver less consistent results and struggles in some scene types the old one didn’t as much.

Next is the MIZWY Screen Protector for Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. The screen protector is designed with High-Quality PET film which does not leave adhesive residue when taken off; the matte finish technology applied helps to remove glare and resist fingerprints. It has the perfect matte surface which provides a natural feeling and has real touch sensitivity with flawless touch screen accuracy. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G has an impressive screen, even if it doesn’t set any new standards. A dynamically variable refresh rate is the missing feature, which saves battery. This phone will drop to 60Hz when an app doesn’t support 120Hz, but sits at the higher rate when sitting idle on the home screen. Display: 6.67" Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 700 nits, 1200 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi. Fourth on this list is the Bruni Screen Protector for Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. This screen protector is made of scratch-resistant, highly transparent PET material and laser-cut on state-of-the-art machines. This transparent Screen Protector can be applied easily and without bubbles and can be removed or repositioned at any time. Once attached, the glue-free Protective Film no longer moves – optimal edge adhesion guaranteed. And these three nearly identical phones should not be confused with the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro with a totally different chipset and video capturing capabilities. And now that we cleared that up, let's proceed with our review.

Rear camera: Wide (main): 108 MP, f/1.9, 26mm, 1/1.52", 0.7µm, PDAF; Ultra wide angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚; Macro: 2 MP, f/2.4. Chipset: Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm): Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6x1.7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver); Adreno 619. It may also be responsible for the slight inconsistency of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s main camera, and its pretty poor handling of late afternoon/early evening images where the light level is mediocre but you’re not get in Night mode territory. These images often look dark and soft. We don’t see this effect in the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which uses the same Samsung HM2 sensor. The ISP may be to blame. This is the image signal processor, which is part of the Snapdragon 695 chipset. Its Spectra 346T ISP is weaker than the MI 11T Pro’s and, more notably, the Spectra 350 of the Redmi Note 10 Pro — even though it has a triple ISP to the last-gen phone’s dual ISP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Camera quality was the standout part of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The Redmi Note 11 Pro is a substantial downgrade in some respects, without getting rid of the most important part: decent primary camera hardware. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G isn’t a full-proof smash of a camera like, say, the Pixel 5a. But it is fun to play around with, and some of the controls are worth exploring. For example, sometimes you’ll get more satisfying results by switching from “Auto HDR” to “HDR.” You can think of the latter as “maximum HDR,” because it almost always takes dynamic range enhancement a step further. It can be useful for high light contrast scenes like sunsets. The atFolix FX-Hybrid Screen Protector for Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is the third-place screen protector on our list of the 10 best screen protectors for Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. The FX-Hybrid-Glass Glass Protector completely redefines the subject of screen protection thanks to a unique material composition: the development of this extremely hard and resistant glass/plastic material makes it possible to produce particularly thin screen protectors. So your touch screen reacts to your input as a completely unprotected display. The Redmi Note 11 has a pretty recognizable look. Xiaomi has been doing a segmented and accented camera island design for many of its phones for some time now, and it's particular enough to be memorable. The Redmi Note 11 has that going for it as well. The same goes for the Redmi Note 11S, which basically has the same exterior and the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, which are just a tad bigger but mostly identical in terms of design. The small accents and circular patterns on the camera island add up to a coherent and eye-catching design. Left to right: Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (2022) matte screen protector allows you to interact seamlessly with your display by eliminating distracting glare, providing you with full visibility of your device, wherever you are. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (2022) screen protector features an advanced anti-glare coating, and thanks to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (2022) screen protector’s film-based design the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (2022) screen protector doesn’t attract finger smudges either. Its matte yet smooth texture allows your finger to glide over the screen without leaving marks. So, with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 (2022) anti-glare screen protector applied to your smartphone, you can browse the internet, video call friends, or reply to messages, all without creating irritating smears across your screen. The front glass surface is mostly flat, though it still tapers off at the far edges and goes down into the middle frame, instead of having it extend up for an even flatter look - another distinction from Apple's current design. Still, the surface is plenty flat in practical terms and enables easy glass screen protector adhesion if that is your thing. Build quality and materialsAs much as we generally like the current Xiaomi design language, we have to admit that telling many of the company's recent phones apart has become nearly impossible at first glance. Not that that's going to be a common problem for end-users.
