Fantasia Mermaid smells like "water and the sea". Like a super clean and clear pool and crystal clear sea waters meet. It is fizzy, sweet and aquatic. I do love citrus notes and I love Anna Sui so this perfume will stay in my collection. Still cannot beat Secret Wish. Second, the scent itself is something between Bvlgary Omnia Crystalline and Versace Bright Crystal. Also there is a Tiffany and Co vibe! Plus there are some water notes here...Mermaid might really swim in a liquid like that! Longevity is good like it would be an eau de perfume. Fragrance is airy, chilly and spicy ..in Italian style. Worth every cent! Very simple and clean, it's not sweet I my view. This isn't fruity either, maybe leans Lanvin style? This is a middle heavy sweet smell. It's not as light as sugar, and it's not as heavy as a base note. I felt most strongly was the raspberry, which made it rather cheerful. I could imagine the warmth of the sun in the cool air of late summer from this perfume. It'll fit for teenage or twentie girls. FANTASIA MERMAID is a gorgeous, whimsical, girly fragrance that opens with an effervescent burst of sweet, happy, fruity, pink soapy, bubblegum top notes that remind very much of VICTORIA'S SECRET BOMBSHELL. The difference is that, there is a sweet-salty air note that emerges early on and becomes more pronounced in the dry down of FANTASIA MERMAID.

I was a little disappointed as all I can smell is laundry detergent / toilet air freshener. It's a very harsh soapy smell too, so doesn't quite make it as a clean laundry scent for me. It was also very sharp when first sprayed and the dry down doesn't quite take that edge off. This perfume makes me so happy. The bottle is gorgeous. It's a beautiful, bright scent that is a sweet, honeyed juicy orangey grapefruit with a hint of softness. There is something so very tropical about this perfume; it could be because this is one of the two perfumes I brought with me on my last vacation there, but it reminds me of Hawaiian beaches. This perfume smells like the sun, the tropical beach, and the frozen fruit delights used to stave off the heat. It transports me to the Lawson in Waikiki, watching the sunset with milk shaved ice in hand. Seawed has a lovely sweetness to it too. This should have been aquatic! Especially with the blue aquatic juice! This is just not for me. I smell a hole where the sweetness should be. A kind of antiseptic, just scrubbed with Ajax smell, mixed with seaweed and ocean water. I kept it a year and tried it again but nope, still not it for me. Waffling between dislike and hate, but for sure I’ll never wear it again. On me, Fantasia Mermaid is a soapy, sweet, yet light and easy to wear citrus combined with a syrupy honey and vanilla smell. It does pull “tropical” on me, and I think that’s because it resembles a tasty alcoholic beverage one might drink while on vacation. However, I’m not yet sure if the smell truly reminds me of a mermaid.The magical Mermaid fragrance opens with sparkling blood orange and sweet mandarin, with a rebellious and spicy touch of cardamom and pepper. At the heart of the fragrance we find a romantic white floral bouquet for flirtatious intrigue which includes jasmine flower, a flower known to be the symbol of love. Fantasia Mermaid is a fruity floriental developed by perfumer Christian Provenzano. Its promotional description reads: My mother was in the kitchen cutting pink grapefruit... I could smell them. She had cut quite a few in halves. The rinds and zest expelled into the air on a warm spring day. lemons with woody note (like in Light Blue) + green apple + chlorine/marine note + trace of honey. Very fresh.To me this is a woman's perfume, but because of the citrus woodsy notes it's not too sugary. I don't think it's masculine, although I wouldn't mind smelling this on a guy, I imagine it would work well for some men.
