Description

Popular animated series featuring Scooby-Doo, a Great Dane who joins four California high school students (Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy) on many quests to solve strange mysteries. Each mystery is current and unusual and involves the group stopping someone from wreaking certain havoc on the world. The gang were always driving in the Mystery Machine, returning from or going to a regular teenage function, when their van develops engine trouble or breaks down for a variety of reasons. Their (unintended) destination turns out to be suffering a monster problem, and the gang volunteers to investigate the case. Eventually, enough clues are found to convince the gang that the ghost or monster was a villain. Invariably, the ghost or monster was apprehended and revealed to be an apparently blameless authority figure or otherwise innocuous local who uses the disguise to cover up a crime or scam. After proclaiming “And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”, the villain was then taken away to prison, and the gang was allowed to continue on their way to their destination.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! was the result of CBS and Hanna-Barbera's plans to create a non-violent Saturday morning program that would appease the parent watch groups that had protested the superhero-based programs of the mid-1960s. [7] Originally titled The Mysteries Five and later Who's S-S-Scared?, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! underwent several changes from script to screen (the most significant being the downplaying of a musical group angle). [8] However, the basic concept—a group of teenagers and their dog solving supernatural-related mysteries—was always in place. [9] Jaguaro was voiced by John Stephenson, while Barney was voiced by Frank Welker. Stephenson also voiced Luis. The gang is driving in the Mystery Machine (van), when their van develops engine trouble or breaks down for any of a variety of reasons On their way home from the Malt Shop, Mystery, Inc. encounters the ghost of Mr. Hyde in the rear of the Mystery Machine, who races through the marsh and sneaks into a haunted house. This place turns out to be the residence of Dr. Jekyll (the great-grandson of the novel's titular character), who fears he might be transformed into Mr. Hyde. The gang searches the place for some clues, pegging a housekeeper named Helga as the likely suspect. However, they are pursued at every turn by Mr. Hyde. The gang pays a visit to their friend Sharon Wetherby, whose Uncle Stuart is cursed by the ghost of Elias Kingston. When Uncle Stuart disappears completely, the gang ventures into the abandoned and allegedly haunted Kingston Mansion next door, in search of him and Elias. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is the first incarnation of a long-running media franchise primarily consisting of animated series, several films, and related merchandise.

The gang's beach party gets interrupted by the ghost in a glowing deep sea-diving suit, who they think is connected with the disappearance of several yachts. This mystery leads them underwater, to an area known as "The Graveyard of Ships" where they again run into the ghost. Velma Dinkley uses her vast knowledge to aid in solving the mystery. She'll occasionally use complicated scientific words to explain an event. She is voiced by actress, Nicole Jaffe. Scooby-Doo The Whole World Loves You: Focuses on Scooby's continued popularity and fans continued love of the character. Directed by Daphne's Uncle John, this feature film is based on the legend of an ape-man. However, the legend soon becomes reality; and the ape man terrorizes the set. The Mystery Machine runs out of gas in front of a rural farmhouse. There, the farmer warns them of an abandoned airfield nearby, which is haunted by a flying saucer and its ghostly extra-terrestrial pilot called the Space Kook.
