This is useful because it means you can potentially make the fine-tuning adjustments from your listening position, rather than having to lean behind the speakers to do so. It also means that you can access a higher level of control. There’s a full six-band EQ with shelves, delay, Q adjustment and other advanced DSP settings, so you can get super-granular. You can save favourite settings, too. The A Series of speakers have been designed to adapt to changing preferences, requirements and environments. An embedded platform from industry-leading company Sonarworks houses advanced filters used to aid the acoustics within a room and calibrate the speakers. Bass Reflex System, Cabinets and Mounting As I said at the beginning. The A4V isn’t likely to be the most popular model of the range, I suspect that will be the A7V, which would be a natural choice for someone working in stereo who wants the sweet spot between performance and value. However the reason I said I suspected the A4V would be the most important of this new range is that having a compact, DSP-controlled monitor which, courtesy of the A Control software can be easily incorporated into, and tuned as part of an immersive monitoring system, which has the performance to match such a demanding application is key to ADAM’s A series being a natural choice for people moving into Atmos.

Voicings is a pre-defined sound profile that can be located on the rear panel of the speakers. There are ‘UNR’, ‘Pure’ and ‘Ext’ selections available. ‘UNR’ stands for ‘Uniform Natural Response™’, producing dynamic natural-sounding response curve of Adam Audio’s design (ideal for production, composition, songwriting, and generally listening to great music). Pure is a very accurate neutral-sounding option, also referred to as the ‘flat’ setting (ideal for mixing and mastering) and ‘Ext’ is dedicated to the extended functionality that comes with A Control when connected via Ethernet. A Control (Real-Time Remote Control) The KH 80 and the the A4V are not only comparable in price, but in the quality of their performance as well. Both are nominally flat, and both are more ideal for smaller-sized studios. Berlin, Germany (April 7, 2022 ) – ADAM Audio is proud to announce the introduction of the A Series, the successor series of the multi-award-winning and long-time best-selling loudspeakers of the AX Series. ADAM guarantees gorgeous clarity and low distortion owing to new woofers and midrange drivers. There’s additionally the A Control software program that permits you to push advanced filters directly to an embedded platform onboard the monitors to compensate for room deficiencies. It was about time somebody gave monitor DSPs an honest go at operating user-customizable software programs.

Pure” is a highly accurate and neutral sounding option. This is the “flat” setting, ideal for mixing and mastering, where you really must be aware of all the details and rely on an honest representation from your speakers The A Series capitalizes on the transformative power of DSP-based electronics to provide greater tuning precision and better predictability than analogue-only speakers. With firmware that can be updated through an Ethernet connection, over time you can expect to integrate the latest DSP-based capabilities from ADAM Audio—including new filter types and features, plus alternative voicings The bass drivers of every A-Series speaker encompass a number of, tightly bonded layers of mineral fiber materials that are characterized by low weight and most stiffness.

The Adam Audio X-ART tweeter is at the centre of the HPS waveguide, which is constructed using a new glass fibre polymer compound to produce clean sound and be free of unwanted resonance. Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) Woofer The 4-band equalizer with its parameters for bass, desk, presence, and treble permits over 100 variants of fine-tuning for changes to probably the most demanding listening environments within seconds. The speaker unit is compact yet powerful and produces clear and concise sound. The onboard DSP-based tuning ability allows you to tweak the sound to your environment. The A4V speaker is ideal for small studio spaces and the 53 Hz to 50 kHz frequency range is perfect for a series of audio applications. Rotatable HPS Waveguide & X-ART Tweeter The Neumanns have a slightly wider sweet spot than the Adams, as well as built-in DSP processing making them slightly more flexible across a broad variety of setups and spaces.

The high-frequency response is the most contentious part of the range. X-ART tweeters are renowned for exceptional clarity and precision, which is the case here. Details are front and center with high clarity. The Adam Audio A4V is a two-way Nearfield Speaker Monitor that features a 4-inch long-throw woofer design and made using Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) fibres (same as what you would find on other A Series speakers) and a classic X-ART tweeter. ADAM Audio presents the A4V speaker, an optimum resolution for small studio rooms and small listening distances. Regardless of its small dimension, it scores with exact reproduction and highly effective sound – an ideal mixture for podcast productions to the mixing of a string quartet.

The room adaptation buttons let you boost or reduce the four frequencies covered, from bass to treble. They’re fine tuning, nothing more, and the main one you’ll probably want to use is the bass control, to reduce the bass in very small rooms, or when the speakers are in corners or close to a wall. These settings do make a noticeable difference, so it’s worth experimenting. The sound Further control is available via the Voicing button. The Pure setting retains an accurate and authentic response for critical listening. The UNR (Uniform Natural Response) is ideal for casual listening with a more lively and colored profile. The final Ext option will override the onboard settings with external adaptation. Adam Audio use HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology which means the tweeters can disperse sound with controlled consistency. The rotatable aspect has been added to the A Series, where tweeters can be shifted in 90-degree steps. This means that whichever way the speaker is placed (horizontally or vertically), the HPS waveguide technology will be in full operation. The software also helps the collaboration with Sonarworks by allowing SoundID Reference filters to run directly within the DSP of the loudspeakers. All A Series clients can take advantage of an extended 60-day trial with full SoundID Reference capabilities. The A Series of speakers maximises the use of transformative power of DSP-based electronics, which allows for more precise tuning and better predictability compared to analogue-only speakers. In addition, there is the option for the firmware to be updated via an Ethernet Connection where the latest developments in technology will be available, including filter types, features and voicings.
