Description

Now that you can recognize and filter out the Brules in your culturescape, you’re ready to create your own rules, models and systems. Lakhiani calls this consciousness engineering, and the next 3 rules are related to this concept. Read books written by practioners, books written by engineers, books written by people who do research to get profits out of their research. I would like to challenge the author with a subsequent Afterword in the book where he talks about his and some of the people he interviewed’s opinion on what the world would be like if all of humanity was uplifted, and everyone was living a life of happy abundance. What are the challenges the human race would face? If we all achieved mastery over our minds, would we try to dominate others’ minds?

Lakhiani was named "Most Strategic Entrepreneur" in the SME & Entrepreneurship Business Award, Malaysia, in 2017. The Award is an annual recognition program organized by Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia. He is no mere guru of anecdotal experience dressed in New Age lingo. His writing is brutally honest, humble, and intimate. At the same time, the book’s content is laser-like in its practicality—drawing partially from Lakhiani having 17 jobs in 17 years, from washing dishes to founding (and losing) companies.” —Miguel Conner, qSample Bestselling Books Week Ended June 13". Success!

He’s got some great tips and thoughts about opening ones mind and creating a world that’s more open and functional than the one we are living in now. If there is just one “self-development” book you will read this year, make it The Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani, which introduces the reader to the concept of Consciousness Engineering. The book provides an easy to follow and profoundly powerful blueprint of models and systems for living a truly balanced and fulfilled life, while striving to attain the highest level of human development so we can fulfill our potential and leave the world a better place. Disrupting the way we see and show up in the world, it has the power to bring humanity-positive paradigm shifts on a global scale.

I'm not going to get into any more specifics because I just don't have it in me. I'd much rather move on to the next book in my ever-growing pile and read something to hopefully take the place of the drivel this book inserted in my brain over the last week. What if everything we think we know about how the world works— our ideas of love, education, spirituality, work, happiness and love — are based on Brules (Bullshit Rules)that get passed from generation to generation and are long past their expiration date? For me, as I’ve read it so far, this book has brought some realization and awareness to how my life has taken shape and what needs to be done to go forward and thrive in my dire situation.Yes he's successful. And yes he has an interesting life so far....so interesting he used mostly himself as an example in the book. Sometimes I also had the feeling he was taking revenge on companies who fired him by writing about them (several times) and how successful he became afterwards (dito). The intro starts with a promise this book won't take long to get down to business, compared to other books. After that, be prepared to read several chapters on what this book is all about (You will learn to blabla) before really getting into it. Of all the books I've read, this was the longest intro ever. The best stuff is found in the appendix.
