MENU > CAMERA7 > Shooting info. disp. > Histogram disp. > Display size > your choice of Large or Small. I prefer small; it shows me what I need and covers less of the image. Silver Lake, California, 11:45 A.M., 14 October 2023. Canon EOS R6II, RF 14-35mm f/4 L IS USM at 14mm, f22 at 1/30 at Auto ISO 100 ( LV 14), Skylum Luminar Neo. More tech details. bigger or fit-to-screen. I don't worry about it, but as a long-time rangefinder shooter, I don't leave my cameras uncapped facing up unattended on picnic tables all day, either.

The R6 Mark II is the world's best practical high-speed mirrorless camera. For full-time sports pros the R3 has no problems with rolling shutter distortion that you can get in the R6II, but the R3 costs twice as much to fix a subtlety most people wouldn't notice for action shots. I don't see any difference in action shots, and this has no effect with things that hold still. Almost all mirrorless cameras have rolling shutters, I don't worry about it. Even if the price was the same, I'd rather carry this lightweight R6II.

For movies, rated LV -4 ~ +21 with f/1.2 lens (not as good with slower lenses, or of course with the RF 85/1.2 DS). I only shoot 4K @ 24fps Pro-res 422 with them and get that mileage. You get less if you shoot BRAW 3:1 at higher frame rate or have other things connected like a mic that uses phantom power. The Chief, Lundy Lake, California, 1:49 P.M., 13 October 2023 Canon EOS R6II, RF 24-240mm IS USM at 55mm, f/8 at 1/160 at Auto ISO 100, -0.7 stops exposure compensation ( LV 13.4), Skylum Luminar Neo. More tech details. bigger or fit-to-screen. Many of these settings are available in other places than the menu system, and I program my favorites to the function buttons. I don't waste this camera on video, so I program my red MOVIE button next to the eyepiece to be a [▶] PLAY button, but that's just me. The orange front dial is to the left of the aperture in the photo above, which will change when you turn the top front dial. The big rear dial icon is to the left of the exposure compensation, which it will change.

For an ultrawide, if and only if you actually need and know how to use an ultrawide lens, I prefer the zoom range of the RF 14-35mm f/4L IS, and the RF 15-30mm IS STM is both very inexpensive, ultralight and super sharp. The RF 16mm f/2.8 STM is also superbly sharp and tiny. Of course the RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM is superb, just bigger, heavier and more expensive — but not any sharper. Bulb Timers, invented by Canon, are brilliant as we can program them to our desired speed and walk away. Use the self-timer and there's no need for a remote release or a stop watch; set and go. If you shoot raw data rather than JPG images, whatever software you use to create visible images from raw data may or may not correct the distortion as is done in-camera as JPGs. You're on your own there; I don't bother with raw data. More battery life; now rated 450 shots compared to the old R6 which was rated 380 shots, both with the finder in the power-saving mode. With a stabilized lens, there is no way to turn the in-camera and in-lens stabilizers ON or OFF separately. It's either both or none. Easy.Hint: On Mac, you can see HEIFs in the Mac's Preview program, and convert HEIF to JPG by opening the HEIF in Preview, then select File > Export > Format > JPEG and have at it. The Mac OS reads HEIF, the native format inside the iPhone, but there's no guarantee anything but the latest software from others will read it. I use PhotoShop CS6 from 2012 every day today and it can't read HEIF. The EOS R6 Mark II is the most practical high-speed full-frame mirrorless camera, and it's also a winner for every other kind of photography. The EOSR5 is wonderful, but if you need high speed you probably don't need the R5's insane 45MP resolution and the accompanying slowdown in workflow from having to choke on double the data for everything you do. Robert Niessner wrote:I don't think so Rob. The LP-E6 had been available for many, many years after LP-E6N was introduced. If you're a seasoned Canon shooter, a simple EF to RF adapter makes all our existing EF lenses 100% compatible, so we don't need to buy any new RF lenses unless one really catches our eye.

Select the in-finder focus-distance scale at MENU > CAMERA7> Shooting info. disp. > Focus distance disp. It's way more than printed specifications. Neither Nikon nor Sony measure-up to Canon overall. I've been shooting for over 50 years and what matters far more than specifications is how well a camera feels in your hands, how its images actually look and how well the camera just gets out of the way. The R6 MarkII is superb. Redwood Motel Sign, Bridgeport, California, 5:04 P.M., 13 October 2023. Canon EOS R6II, RF 24-240mm IS USM at 94mm, f/11 at 1/400 at Auto ISO 100, -0.3 stops exposure compensation ( LV 15.6), Skylum Luminar Neo. More tech details. bigger or fit-to-screen.or otherwise the focus ring is always ignored in AF. Canon should have it set this way by default, but they didn't. No big deal now that I figured it out. Kim Janson wrote:These batteries are ok for the task they where originally developed, still photography and occasional FHD video.

Regular 5-pin Hot Shoe and also Canon's new 21-pin digital shoe connection to use with the newest EL-5 flash. Especially with current BMPCC cameras it would not be any problem to fit a bigger battery on the handle, I really hope BMD will in future use batteries that provide at least 60 minute runtime. This is from my EOS R6 Users Guide. Some menu locations might be a little different in the EOS R6 MarkII; I'll update this when my R6 MarkII arrives. I prefer the rear 4-way controllers of the EOSR and EOSRP; on the R6 I haven't quite gotten comfortable with having to swap my thumb between the multiway nubbin and the big rear wheel.Color rendition is how pictures look in the real world. Real-world color rendition has nothing to do with color accuracy measured in a lab. Color rendition is dependant on how a maker programs all the color matrices, curves, and look-up tables to generate color from the data read from the sensor, and varies widely between makers once you set a camera away from its defaults. I never shoot at defaults. Maybe in few years that will change when the electronics get more efficient, but for now we simply need bigger batteries.
