You are the inventor of your Self-Awareness and therefore, not the fear and desire you are reflecting on. You are the mirror upon which all imagined-self appears and disappears.

I love the light embryos in the Ace of Swords below! I also love how The Chariot is pulled by two comodo dragons and how the King of Wands is wearing a crown of thorns like another well-known visionary whose resurrection we recently celebrated. I adore the write-up in the Starman Tarot guide book for The Chariot which happens to be my Tarot Year Card in 2019 – Very insightful! The space surfer, haloed Prince of Cups makes a reference to Hamlet and ‘To be or not to be’ and the 6 of Cups is super easy to read as sentimentality and reaching for the past. And the Ace of Wands is just stunning. It’s so beautiful it hurts. I could just look stare at it for ages. This is how I feel the Ace of Wands energy. I have never looked at another Ace of Wands Tarot card and been able to say that before. We are being invited [by the Starman] to see the inherent nature of the human condition and look at what has been fashioned by culture through the ages, the belief and value systems we have simply adopted. His glorious presence awakens us to see another realm entirely and, in that resonance, seemingly irrefutable facts are seen as fictions’ (p.24). The ‘alien messiah’ and his tarot is a medium we can use to explore ourselves and to bring us into a higher level of consciousness and bring in a New Aeon for humanity. This obviously draws on from other magical currents including Thelema and the work of Crowley, although not really mentioned in the book were obviously influential to Bowie. He is the creator of the global bestselling Starman Tarot and produced art, designs and campaigns for some of the most innovative companies and leaders in the world, including Apple, Virgin and Sony.He worked with David Bowie on artwork for the albums Outside and Earthling, as well as collaborating on an installation for the Venice Biennale (where do we come from, where do we go?) and an exhibition in London’s Cork Street.

For one example, the Lovers card is simply gorgeous to look at. Around the lovers’ midsection, there is a swarm of bees. In the guidebook, the artist notes that the bees are dripping with honey, and that honey is an ancient symbol of love and fertility and was thought to be a powerful aphrodisiac. There are dozens of bees in that image. Yet, how many bees were needed to convey the symbolism: Would one bigger bee, or even a few bees, be enough? Having grown up in east London’s Walthamstow, De Angelis is now based in Bali, where he lives "a fruitarian lifestyle" (yup, that means he only eats fruit), and as well as his art and design work spends "a lot of time working with energy and movement practices". While some of the images on the cards clearly depict a man or a woman, some of the characters are ambiguous as far as which sex they are. I love this because it reflects David Bowie’s gender-bending persona. Just as importantly, for me anyway, this is in line with my own personal philosophy that it doesn’t matter whether you are a woman or a man, you have both masculine and feminine qualities that you can tap into.Once Bowie chose someone to work with he trusted them and left them to weave their particular magic into a project. He was very open and responsive to different ideas and always up for challenging what was expected." What else influences your work? The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust was recorded at Trident Studios in Soho, so Bowie and people working with him would often end up in my dad’s restaurant after a late session. My dad was also a musician and he really liked Bowie and always found him very polite and respectful. In those days Bowie liked a few glasses of red wine and he would often hang out with Tony Visconti, his producer, chewing over ideas.

This moment, as it was likely to, marked a turning point in little De Angelis’ life; and one that he was to revisit two decades later when this dream came true, and in 1993 the pair found themselves together again in the designer’s studio. "Much like the time before, we sit with pens and sheets of paper," says De Angelis. "Only now we speak of philosophy, typography, technology and shamanic visions. We drink cups of coffee and Bowie has traded in the full-strength Marlboros for the odd puff of a light version." ST:I constantly seek to balance the mind with the heart so that creative inspiration can gain as clear and unfettered expression as possible. ( 2 of Swords) Once or twice he just showed up at my apartment with a plastic carrier bag full of strange objects he’d collected that he thought would help me come up with something. It was a very exciting time for me… it seemed that once he chose someone to work with he trusted them and left them to weave their particular magic into a project. He was very open and responsive to different ideas and always up for challenging what was expected. He continues: "I remember him telling me that my art and designs were truly incredible. He described them as ‘Potent Visual Alchemy’. Strangely this didn’t fill me with any great satisfaction or sense of triumph. Instead, it simply felt as if time had caught up with itself. This event – his words – happened in 1973 and it had taken twenty years for the reality to catch up: time is simply a mechanism to stop everything happening at once. In a sense, no matter what the world threw my way to counter it, this meeting had already happened." Furthermore, in an attitude of righteousness, he may assign himself the job of correcting the offender. Jumping easily to conclusions, he shoots first, asks questions later and is therefore often guilty of overkill. This is not to say that he does not have his heroic side; a single-minded combativeness can have its value. However, even when he is doing the right thing, he is likely to be doing it for the wrong reasons. Apt advice for this card is to deeply question your motives for what you are thinking about doing. Forethought will assist you in discriminating between righteous and unrighteous causes. Control any traces of impulsive judgement!

I treat each session as a sacred act, taking great care to ensure that all my clients leave a session with effective and positively-focused action steps and understandings of the dynamics playing out in their situations and circumstances. Basically, the benefits of a reading play out across all aspects of your life, helping to you to live more fully and openly. ARE YOU READY TO DISCOVER... EMPOWERING ANSWERS - ENRICHING OPPORTUNITIES - NEW DIRECTIONS - EFFECTIVE ACTIONS A Tarot reading is a magical, intuitive and liberating process. I work directly with my own Starman Tarot. A reading seeks to uncover the source-patterns that are flowing through your life. A lot of artists and designers seem to be drawing their own Tarot at the moment, why do you think that is? Are we looking for guidance in troubled times? Davide is an award-winning Designer, Art Director and Visionary Artist. He is also a Spiritual Teacher, Energy Master, and Explorer of Human Potential. In his personal life he is a skilled percussionist, master didgeridoo player, jump rope fanatic and ultra-runner.Since the Sun of Tiphareth is in the sign of Aries, which is the sign of This Path, indicates that THE EMPEROR exercises some control over the solar forces of the Higher Self. It is appropriate to follow one's heart, and true calling, but it is immature to run away from one's obligations. As The Path of Aleph, THE FOOL connects Kether (Crown) with Chokmah (Wisdom). To the Qabalist, Kether is known as the Source of All, and Chokmah is known as Father God. The Path of Aleph, (The Fool) meaning OX, is about the "flowing of Life Force and creative power", showing that the SPIRIT had a beginning aim to be that of Earth and/or Sensual Being. Sometimes down is up! The ox head is also shown in the Starman Sacred Clown card, as a white light shape above the Sacred Clowns head gear. Bowie looked at the young boy’s art and said to him: "I can see clearly you are an artist. Can we draw something together?" De Angelis explains: "Bowie and I are now sitting together in an off-world realm, far from the illusion of Soho. We are drawing together. We find a conclusion in the drawing and I hear myself asking Bowie if I can one day create something for his record sleeves."
