Description

In a world where nobody is there to help you but yourself, a constant live-or-death situation with everyone out to get you. Rebuild World is about the protagonist in a survival of the fittest world, figuring out realistic solutions, and forming relationships that benefit him. While reading, you appreciate not just the great art that enhances the story, but the underdog story of a slum kid that finally gets his break. Don’t worry, there are many other routes that we can take, but… We actually have changed the route thrice, you see.” Thanks to Alpha’s support, the piercing bullet which flew out from its muzzle hit the scorpion right where Akira was aiming and blasted the scorpion’s head to pieces.

Akira readied his AAH rifle and aimed at those scorpions. He lined the TPL added into his vision by Alpha to the head of one of those scorpions and calmly pulled the trigger.

With Akira leading the team, they moved more or less at the same speed as when Shikarabe was in the lead. Moving with that speed was completely above Akira’s ability, so he relied fully on Alpha to watch for any monsters. On top of it, if she really asked him if he could connect to the old-world domain, it might cause a fight in which they were forced to kill each other. The story is... well, there isn't much story yet. Protagonist finds his ghostly/virtual waifu and uses her guidance to become OP. Most of the events are or feel like cliche power fantasy to me, and if you think of the waifu as a cheat ability you get your usual run of the mill power fantasy story. However, the art and the tempo of the events make the experience more bearable, or at least less forgettable than "another isekai story".

They delved deeper through the darkness of the underground city. Traces of advanced civilizations could be found around them together with the inactive advanced technologies that were waiting to be reactivated. These silently revealed the glory that once prevailed in the past as these were now warped in total darkness. Akira and the others used their lights to scan the area and caught a glimpse of those remnants from the old-world civilization’s glorious era, they could see countless old-world relics that were left there. A manga adaptation by Kirihito Ayamura began serializing on Dengeki Maoh in July 2019. The ninth volume went on sale on April 27.

Don’t even think of carrying just a small amount of those relics or mixing them with your ammo thinking that they won’t notice them. It’s a bad idea, so just don’t, okay?” And so, the whole team headed to the nearest safe place which was the defensive point 19. Elena relied on the rough map that she made to navigate through the total darkness. They encountered monsters a few times, but Akira could handle them just fine. He was at least able to avoid being a dead weight to the other Hunters. Because of the layout of the underground city and the number of rubbles scattered in its hallways, they were forced to fight monsters in a close range for a few times, but again, Akira was able to handle those fights without any problem. By far, the best aspect of Rebuild World is the art. It is well refined and super detailed. While the style is not particularly unique, the shading and detail put into every frame is in and of itself incredibly impressive. Some shots are genuinely menacing, and give a real sense of depth and atmosphere to the world. I would say that the art alone is good enough to read this one from beginning to end, especially since its only around 10 chapters as of now. Elena had promised Akira not to ask him any unnecessary questions. Although she was interested in him since he had better detection ability compared to her who was the team’s main in surveillance, it was not enough of a reason to break her promise with the person who saved her life. She is beautiful, but it seems that only he can see her. She exists incorporeal, tantalizingly beyond any touch, and she tells him her name is Alpha. Akira is a street orphan who wants nothing more to become a hunter, so that he can find old technology and sell it to live a better life. However, his first foray into the city ruins almost ends in disaster. Akira’s life is saved by Alpha, a mysterious artificial intelligence that communicates to him alone using augmented reality. Alpha explains that she is looking to explore a particularly dangerous part of the Old World, but is physically unable to do so. Alpha offers Akira a proposition: she will act as his guide, training him in combat and teaching him how to operate as a hunter, in the hopes that he can explore the ruins for her. Akira agrees, and the two soon become entangled in the dangerous world of technology hunting. The world building for Rebuild World is, well, decent I suppose. Already from reading a few chapters, you might think Rebuild World takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, decades after an unknown cataclysm. While humanity perseveres, a majority of the population lives in squalor, only the wealthy and privileged able to eat any food which is not experimental rations. The primary way to survive in this world is by becoming a hunter—exploring the ruins of the "Old World" to find lost technology, as well as combatting the numerous organic and mechanical monsters that were born from the collapse in society.
