I don't care about any of this nonsense about Krakoa having some sort of sibling mutant island that for some reason was in a parallel dimension until recently. I am baffled by the decision to terraform Mars and put Arrako there. I'm mystified that Storm has been given such a position of prominence on Arrako, but I also can't believe that I'm supposed to care about all these new mutants I've never heard of before. Abigail got her techno-organic sample from Cable after he died fighting the Progenitors in issue #2.

Ewing wrote Mighty Avengers and Loki: Agent of Asgard for Marvel Comics [9] and co-wrote the first year of the Eleventh Doctor Doctor Who title with Rob Williams for Titan Comics. [10] The thing this volume got the most right was finally bringing in something that feels like an actual threat in Genesis. In hindsight, it’s the obvious move, and was the natural point for this series to climax with, but it still feels long overdue, and was definitely stalled due to Judgment Day and Sins of Sinister. In one corner, we had Brand being mostly incompetent, taking up narrative space as the antagonist, generally extraneous. In the other, we have Genesis, who immediately feels like a real threat to what has been built throughout X-Men Red. While some of the developments to Arakki culture seem fudged, Genesis appearing feels like an actual confrontation of those themes and philosophies, where Brand has just been an X-Force also-ran. Her plan worked pretty well for me since the document was phrased as something that she’d been working on over time. Each section was written at a specific time of her looking forward to the next step. So sure, some of it is maybe a little much, but the base of it feels solid to me. Sunu, Steve (20 December 2011). ‘Extreme Venomverse’ #1 is about Spidey, family, and samurai

The Super-Skrull] swore an oath not to commit murder in the Emperor’s service.” Presumably as a consequence of Hulkling transferring him to diplomatic duty in Empyre – Aftermath: Avengers #1 (2020), as punishment of sorts for his previous brutality. All this "goddess" talk is off putting. She is a human mutant. Lately, writers have wanted to give her a power upgrade. They started calling her "omega," and they started to suggest that her old mage ancestry was actually something she could tap into on purpose now. But it's not the power upgrades that irk me. It's her demeanor. Storm is a fallible, flawed human being, but she tells other people she believes she's a goddess. It's the arrogance. The delusion.

My feelings are largely negative because I don't really approve of this "Arrako" nonsense as a whole. It's almost at the point where I'm going to have trouble remembering what happens with each individual issue, because my brain is already pulling away, waiting for something else to happen.

Director's Commentary: Zaucer of Zilk". Forbidden Planet Blog Log. 22 March 2012. Archived from the original on 24 May 2012 . Retrieved 26 April 2012. Craig Marshall, a NASA scientist who has taken a liking to the people of Arakko, welcomes Storm to a quiet romantic dinner. Storm shows up somewhat overdressed, but neither of them particularly mind. But just when they’re about to push the date further, Storm gets a telepathic call from Charles Xavier. That talk Storm offered in Immortal X-Men #11? Xavier is calling for it now. This book leads into the events of "A.X.E.: Judgment Day". Can't wait to be able to read that crossover in entirety. Ewing has also contributed to Solar Wind, FutureQuake, and The End Is Nigh.
