We’ll do better, next time,” Hudspeth interrupted dismissively, helping his wife to her feet. “You all right, Mori?”

The Seren really don't feel like much of a threat. First because we're told a lot, but not shown a lot, which is always a buzzkill. Second, there only seemed to be one main Seren dude, which kinda defeats the purpose of there being an entire group that has been a threat for so long. Third, because quite frankly... they are boring villains. Their whole motivation is 'we want to live forever' and only at the end we suddenly get a slightly more interesting line about 'eliminating all non-magic folk so magic peeps can reign supreme', but that was literally one line at the very end, why???? Strofadia is a land of flight and fantasy, where the people are born with wings and the great floating mountains are seen as the source of fantastic power. There are three floating mountains, with the largest being known as the home of the great Cloud Dragon – keeper of magic and granter of wishes. The people of Strofadia take their magical wishes (in the form of a physical bead-like object) to the dragon, in the hopes that the wish will be granted at the end of the festival when the dragon appears. An informative, no-nonsense guide looking at the concept of gender and the different issues surrounding it, featuring personal stories to bring it all to life. Jolly’s not the word I’d use.” The woman, Mori, ruffled her hair and lifted a pair of glasses to her face, before taking them off and trying a second pair which she kept on, apparently liking them better. “The weather’s taken a turn for the worse—you wouldn’t believe the size of the waves. There was talk of ships being blown off the edge of the map entirely.” This is the seventh book in Robin Steven’s Murder Most Unladylike series (for eight to 12-year-olds), following the detective adventures of Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong, two young schoolgirls attending boarding school in 1930s England,” said Jen.Reluctantly, Mori unhooked the ring from her belt, and put the magnifying glass into Jonathan’s hand. To everyone around her, George is a boy - but George longs to be like Charlotte, the wise and gentle hero of Charlotte's Web. This short, sweet story of embracing your true self and trusting those around you is a timely addition to the growing awareness of transgender identification in children and young adults. With that in mind, we've put together a list of brilliant books featuring characters who identify as trans, non-binary or gender fluid alongside non-fiction titles that explore these themes. I am not a huge fantasy fan, but the Strangeworlds Travel Agency hooked me in and had me reading on for more. Ale dvadsaťtriročná žena áno, obzvlášť ak som ňou ja. A nanešťastie vydavateľstvo spravilo tú chybu, že ju promovalo ako nasledovníka Harryho Pottera. Veľmi zlý krok.

I thought that book 1 & 2 were fun adventure books with a common mystery: what is taking the magic, which causes these worlds to die? But I gotta say... the build up was better than the climax, sorry. As well as the many brilliant books for adults that tell LGBTQ+ stories, there are lots that celebrate equality and inclusivity and are great for reading with kids. Herbert's mother cannot understand why he won’t be a good rabbit, but Herbert doesn’t want to be a rabbit – he wants to be a fox! This charming picture introduces themes of identity and acceptance to young children through bright, expressive illustrations and visual clues to help children predict what will happen next. Presenting herself as Julian, Jordan successfully auditions for an all-male a capella group and is forced to consider what it means to be female, male and, ultimately, herself. A refreshingly complex and entertaining story of self-discovery. He noticed the boy, whose mouth was flapping like he was a goldfish at feeding time. “Oh. Are you still here?”

Máme tu jednu veľmi milú a chutnú knihu. Kniha plná fantasy, mágie, dobrodružstva a cestovania. Keďže teraz je zakázané cestovať reálne, zacestujme si aspoň takto.I enjoyed this companion book to the Strangeworlds Agency series. It’s short (as it is for World Book Day) but has all the entertaining fun from the other three books. I thought that the ending was totally satisfying with all the loose ends tied up in a brilliantly organised conclusion. This was a fantastic finale to a wonderful series.

I love this series so goddamn much it hurts omg. I love the characters, I *adore* the worlds so much. L. D. Lapinski is one of the most creative and descriptive writers I’ve ever read! Ik houd hiervan zoals ik houd van de serie over Tilly en de boekdwalers, zoals ik houd van Het ministerie van oplossingen, en ja, zoals ik houd van Harry Potter. Can Mimi save her gran from losing her memories? An inclusive, searingly emotional story with magic realism elements. Every child deserves an education which reflects the world that we live in, and the opportunity to learn in an environment where everyone can be themselves. But sadly, this still isn’t the case in schools across the UK, with our research finding that almost half of LGBT+ pupils (45%) are bullied for being LGBT+ in Britain’s schools, and two in five LGBT+ pupils (40%) are never taught anything about lesbian, gay, bi and trans people or relationships,” said Sidonie Bertrand-Shelton, Head of Education and Youth at Stonewall. It’s another one where I could tell you every second I loved of this, but I really want you just dive in and find those moments yourself.
