The other self told Hill to stop giving in to fear and doubt and finally finish his philosophy of achievement, which he did. When we’re listening to our other self, we have faith in ourselves. We don’t give in to what Steven Pressfield calls the Resistance. This is the only way to properly operate in life. It all boils down to the reality that the whole world is driven by fear, cultural limitations, and meaningless education.

Concepts such as the importance of mindset (and even obsession) were totally new to me. I enjoyed that book, and was curious about this one. Change the plan you will roll onto at any time during your trial by visiting the “Settings & Account” section. What happens at the end of my trial? Hypnotic rhythm- rhythms of life, they exist. I the closing of the American mind, he talks about this in music driving people to sex. Sex has a rythym. Music of course also strikes notes of comfort, clarity, competition, excitement, adventure, love, etc. Mastery over self. Discipline equals freedom. If you’re driven by impulse all your life, you’ll go nowhere, like a drifter.

So, during these two years away from the insanity that had become "home," I have been floundering a bit, but also climbing forward. To think my own thoughts...to be a Don Quixote for my own beliefs...to make decisions and accept the consequences along with awareness of involved dynamics and effects upon others, to risk applying different techniques, and to decrease my need for the approval of others. This isn't to say that I no longer find camaraderie of like minded souls important, but I can keep my own counsel and engage in reflective contemplation with a sense of something greater than the smaller me. Harnessing the power of cooperation : Hill encourages individuals to work together with others in the pursuit of their goals. Cooperation and collaboration can multiply the effectiveness of individual efforts, making it easier to overcome the challenges imposed by the Devil.

Flattery doesn't effect non-drifters. Drifters love it, they love vanity and egotism. Reminds me of the book "you are loved" with the dots and stars. But in this instance the show loses shape in a way that leaves the audience baffled. There’s occasional text projected above the stage, a translation of the French voiceover, although these are no more than fragments of Gilgamesh’s story. The state of one’s mind, known as faith, circumvents the restrictive nature of the five physical senses and communicates with the infinite source of power. This book gives us a run-through of the whole process, and how the Devil exerts influence over you. Going into his fictitious interview with evil incarnate, Hill already knew one of the primary tools in the devil’s belt: fear. A few years earlier, Hill had received a death threat. He ended up hiding with relatives for over a year, paralyzed. One night, he finally went outside and found what Carnegie had told him about years before: Learning from adversity. Failures are just failures. Whether you learn from them or let them stop you is up to you.The person who moves with definiteness of purpose recognizes the difference between temporary defeat and failure. When plans fail he substitutes others but he does not change his purpose. He perseveres."

Practicing gratitude : By focusing on the positive aspects of life and cultivating a sense of gratitude, individuals can combat the Devil's attempts to instill negativity and despair. A grateful mindset allows people to appreciate their progress and maintain the motivation to continue striving for success. I saw this in me for decades in fact until I stopped to think how ridiculous it all really was. For the fear of poverty I slept on the streets for 3 nights just so I could see how bad things could really get. I met new people, made some cash, and felt freer than I had for years. That action led me to overcoming this silly fear.

Drifters believe they’re powerless.

However, you should be aware of the fact that “Reality” is self-created; it’s not a Universal fact. The book quotes from the bible and even states that it corresponds with Christ’s teachings. A few differences of the book compared to the bible came to mind as I was reading it: You will discover that the cause of success is not something separate and apart from the man; that it is a force so intangible in nature that the majority of men never recognize it; a force which might be properly called the ‘other self.’”
