Our son loves Nicki's ever-present four-legged companion Holly, even riding on the foot board of her scooter as she does her daily errands. I'm not even sure what year she came and she would sit on the stone bench on the pier and mend the fishermen's nets for them. An incredible debut novel by an author who has gained great popularity from blogging and a cookbook in the past.

Wendy needs to come clean with her daughter about what exactly went on all those years ago in Wendy and her friend Amanda get to spend the whole summer on the Amalfi Coast, house-sitting in Positano. Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days in your life, full of emotions and surrounded by all those that you love. I just thought it was a nice little memory to put her in it because she was such an important part of my life. And I love the fact that I can make food from what we have in our garden, which is a huge thing for us nowadays.

We follow Nicki on Positano Diaries and it is wonderful to read about the people and places that she, and us through her YouTube channel, know and have come to love. I seldom read a book these days, and never soppy romances, but I could not put this down as I recognised so many places and people. In rented accommodation, back then we didn't have any money and we were struggling and it wasn't a particularly nice apartment that we were living in. So it all kind of ties in together for this whole image of you, and you portraying Positano in the most gorgeous of ways. It was too much back and forth; however I did stay for the wonderful Amalfi Coast and Italian food descriptions.

The narrative moves between 1986 and 2016, following the story of the protagonist - Wendy - whose life is changed by unexpected events that interrupt an otherwise idyllic summer holiday on the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. They are believable and fully fleshed out, making the plot engaging and the book impossible to put down. My feeling is that there was a scene with Francesco, the main love interest, on a boat and he has all these lemons that spill into the boat and it seemed to me that was the inspiration. You'll see houses precariously clinging to a cliff edge with no indication of how you even get to the house from the road above--or below--and how you would even get your groceries to your door.

Back then there was this real sort of summer culture where the Italians would come on holiday for the summer, and you'd know them because they'd be the same people coming back every year, and we'd have repeat visitors, so at the end of the beach day, everybody would migrate to the Buca del Bacco, the piazza on the beach, and have an aperitivo, and everybody would socialize.

So I loved reading and me and my mum together, we always talked about writing a book one day, and it was something that we both loved the idea of doing. I love books that have crossovers with other characters or books that have places that you can actually look up on Google and find, and they're real.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I really enjoyed this story and having lived in the 80's enjoyed the song references and clothing description. This is definitely a book which I will keep in my permanent collection, as some books you read and pass on. He took me to this little place where he always stayed, one of these smaller family owned places, Casa Cosenza. It is a typical love triangle, with the wife made to be a drab stay-at-home body, and the husband conveniently using this as an ‘excuse’ to sleep around with a young 24-year old tourist.

Positano has 3,800 residents, so it's the sort of town where everybody knows everybody and you easily spot a visitor.
