Here we’re going to hit 2 critical parts of what make a camera the ‘best’: Form and Quality. The shape and size of the camera dictate where and how you can mount it. The Quality of the recorded video is also just as important. When it comes to camera recording quality, there are 2 main aspects to consider (that we have time to cover in this blog, anyway), the resolution of the video and the frames per second (fps) of the video. As a rule of thumb, the higher these numbers are the better.

Our recommendation is a Xiaomi Yi Action Camera, due to great form factor and high quality video and great cost. Gun Cam Very tough, Its been hit several times, once right in the lens, not a mark on the glass lens protector. The sights offer two rear apertures to aim with, a smaller one for semi-automatic fire and long-range use and a wider one which is well suited to full auto fire and low light conditions. The sights can be deployed by pressing the textured section at the front of each sight from either side, after which they can be manually raised into position. Adjustments can be applied via the dial on the right side of the rear sight, which will move the aperture from side to side, and in the centre of the front sight post which will raise and lower it for elevation adjustments. Up top there are a couple of small compartments. The larger of the two handles charging, provides a home for the SD card and an outlet for the micro-HDMI feed. Behind that sits the similarly protected focus adjustment. The “best” is obviously a relative term, but in this article we’ll go through the different cameras available and what we’ve found works out best for the situations we’ve tried. How many Cameras? However, Something like a Xiaomi Yi Action camera is a fraction of the price, is mounted in the same way and can hit 1080p (HD) 60fps (smooth video in fast motion). Some of the new models can do 4k (4x the resolution of HD) at 60fps or 1080p at 120fps but these models are more expensive. These cameras (or comparable cameras like X4000 cameras) offer great quality, with some firmware tweaks and are a much friendlier price – Especially when you consider that they’ll be taking the odd hit from a BB. The external build quality and the push button as well as reliability are top notch indeed. The only problem i have is, that the images produced are worse than the oldschool scopecam 4 airsoft 4k. If this had a decent sensor and lens, it would be perfect. This advanced technology brings objects and textures to life with its ultra-high resolution. With TACTACAM 5.0, you’re able to shoot everything in 4K. Not many airsoft gun cameras offer this resolution. Another great thing about this camera is its zoom capability. It features 8x zoom to capture fantastic detail in full action footage, despite standing from a far distance. What We Love Easy to install on airsoft. Lightweight and does not feel overweight. After 10 minutes of shooting in testing, the 4K image quality is excellent.

You can get amazing quality out of a cinema camera, but you’ll never be able to mount it to your gun. Similarly, you can get amazingly small cameras, but they don’t put out the highest quality footage. Head cam There are a few dedicated scope cam solutions out there but the Triggercam is the best I’ve seen. A high-quality build, a great image and a compact design combine with excellent ease of use to make it a very handy film making or indeed training tool. This option is best suited to mid-range Gameplay Footage and is best suited for mounting to an Assault rifle, LMG, or Submachine gun. The field of view with this lens is 12 degrees. This Focal Length optimized forcapturing footage from a distance of approximately20-50m.Video stabilisation: Video stabilisation assists in optimal quality videos, minimising recoil effects. Function can be switched On/Off There are three versions of the camera to choose between, the difference being their lens magnification. Out of 25 / 35 and 50mm, 50mm has the greatest zoom. Features: I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get footage for paintball....or airsoft (sigh) ;)

My only suggestion for Runcam is a slight redesign to turn off the buzzing noise when you turn the camera on. You can hear the buzz on the camera footage audio. With the button configuration we don't need the buzz to let us know its recording. This option is best suited to Airsoft Sniper Rifle footage, as it provides the most zoomed-in image, and is best recording a distance of about 30-70m. The field of view with this lens is 8.2 degrees.Absolutely stunned by the quality of this camera. The footage is head, shoulders and shoe laces above any other scope cam I have seen out there. The video quality is so good its like watching professional footage on TV. First thing to work out is how many cameras you want to carry around with you. How many cameras you carry around with you is all about striking a balance between getting good footage and not being weighed down or obstructed by them all. Finally, consider accessories and mounting hardware. You can mount these cameras anywhere you like, and they are both compatible with standard GoPro mounting hardware, which can be bought for pennies online. You don’t even need to mount them on your head or on your gun, perhaps try a 3 rd person view? To set up the Triggercam you need to link your smartphone or tablet to the Triggercam’s wi-fi and then fine-tune the settings from there, especially the reticle focus. Once linked, you adjust the focus with the wheel, which streams the image direct to the app. It’s basically set and forget.
