About this deal

I have some old Bowens mono lights that refuse to die, they're like old Marshall amplifiers! But I can't get the L fit softboxes anymore so is there a S to L adapter? Also, what is the S type diameter as I may be able to 'modify' an aftermarket softbox.

Sony NP-F Style (Via BH-FZ60 Battery Grip) Battery Included: No Battery Required: No Charge Time to Full (Hours): Battery Dependant Charge Time to 80% (Hours): Battery Dependant Runtime @ 100% Brightness (Hours): 14.8V Sony V-Mount 160WH: 1.8 hoursThe Forza 60B is directly compatible with a purpose-built line of Forza 60 light modifiers, while an optional Bowens mount adapter (sold separately) expands compatibility to a massive selection of light modifiers, including but not limited to Nanlite's line of full-sized softboxes and umbrellas.

The Forza 60B from Nanlite is a Bicolour monolight style LED with remarkable light output relative to its small size. Weighing only 1.83 lbs, the Forza 60B employs a COB LED module with a variable colour temperature range from 2700K to 6500K. With the included reflector, the Forza 60B outputs 13830 Lux of 5600K daylight-balanced light at 1 meter. All while maintaining a high average CRI/TLCI of 96/98, ensuring accurate colour rendition. But apart from the mechanical challenges (the L type diameter is approx 16cm, the opening in the speedring adapter is 14cm, so some creative bending and shaping will be required) I wonder if the flash tube itself won't end up in a too shallow position inside the softbox. It already is somewhat receded in the old Bowens Mono Bronze and Solver units (I have of them myself, next to my Gemini's), and with the addition of the speedring adapter , with the softbox on top of that, may risk not protruding far enough inside the softbox. everything else fits otherwise despite the differences. I got 10.5 mm in depth on all three lugs where you got 9.8, and a rough average of 9.9 mm for the width of the lug where you got 9.9. I say rough because two measured 9.75 and the last one measured at 10.05mm. I have been using umbrellas for quite a while now and now looking to start using larger modifiers, particularly Octaboxes of around 150cm. Now I know what youre gonna say: "You wont have enough power blah blah blah" Yeah I know, thats not the question :) I'd still like to know if the lug is within Bowen's tolerances. But it looks like I'll be shaving the the tops of those lugs. Of course, if you get a chance to mike a real Bowen's mount, I'd like to see them. If I get that chance, I'll do the same.

Continued access to adjust light settings on touch screen or wirelessly control from the Rotolight App The included Battery Grip enables approx. 1 hour of cord-free runtime at 100% brightness when equipped with 2x Sony L style NP-F750 batteries so you can operate in any location regardless of power availability. Other power options include an AC Adaper (included) or a 14.8w V-Mount style battery, via a specially designed battery grip (sold separately). In the past, I was a major part of Team Bowens which essentially means I would test their new products, write articles for them and provide training to the public as well as their distributors around the globe. But that affiliation abruptly ended when Bowens went into liquidation in 2017. I know there was a lot of anger at the time from employees both here and in China regarding the abrupt Bowens closure, but I can only say that I received all the money I was owed for the work I provided for them, therefore I can’t comment on that. My point here is that I have no ill will towards them.

Bowens as a company was founded in 1923 and by the 1950s it was one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The company saw great success for many years and was well known for producing incredibly reliable and durable studio lighting heads that were the workhorse of many a busy studio. My suggestion is to buy a second hand L type reflector, and modify it to fit in the speedring adapter that Bowens uses for its softboxes (don't know about other manufacturers, but is the case with the Bowens Lumiair softboxes) NOTE: There is a concern that, depending on the light you're using, the material of the round hole in the softbox may occluded part of the flashcube. GO HAND HELD: The included Battery Grip enables approx. 1 hour of cord-free runtime at 100% brightness when equipped with 2x Sony L style NP-F750 batteries, plus by no longer relying on light stands for support, the Forza 60 can now be used anywhere and everywhere, perfect for run and gun filmmaking, creative effects and event photography.

Snoot

I have a similar, but different adapter to this that allows the speedlight to be mounted horizontally (which makes things a bit easier if you're using CLS / ETTL etc.)... works like a dream. Why is this important? Well, I’ve used both the Godox Citi and the Bowens XMT and I personally found the XMT to be far more consistent, color accurate and had fewer misfires when compared to my time with the Godox Citi…. even though they were supposed to be made by the same people. Of course, this is a sample test of one light compared to another and I could just have had a less than perfect Citi head. The Forza 60 LED from Nanlite is a monolight style light fixture with remarkable light output relative to its small size. Weighing only 1.83 lbs, the Forza 60 employs a COB LED module to output 18820 Lux of 5600K daylight-balanced light at 1 meter. All while maintaining a high CRI/TLCI of 98/95, ensuring accurate colour rendition. The brightness of a light is important, but without colour accuracy, a ton of time and money will be lost in post-production. The Forza 60 features a CRI of 98 and a TLCI of 95 meaning you can shoot with confidence knowing the colour reproduction will be precise. Take the Nanlite Forza 60's power and versatility to a new level with the included Forza 60 Battery Grip. By no longer relying on light stands for support, the Forza 60 can now be used anywhere and everywhere, perfect for run and gun filmmaking, creative effects and event photography.
