An obvious idea, but as yet not fully delivered. Most binoculars with a built in digital camera are not much more than a novelty item. Bushnell have been pioneers in this field and whilst I think they still have a long way to go before they produce a quality pair of binoculars with a combined digital camera that matches the stand alone versions, they continue to improve. Bushnell produce 2 models of Digital Camera Binoculars, the Instant Replay that can also capture video and the Image view series. As a side note, I am going to have the opportunity to try out Bushnell's warranty/customer service. Yesterday afternoon I managed to drop the Ultras while getting into my car. They landed, sadly, on the edge of the eyecup. The binoculars are now out of alignment and the eyecup will not twist out of the body. The rubber armor around the eyecup is also a bit torn at this spot.

What we do in testing a binocular's ability to control strong or stray light is to do our best to induce glare by coming close to The twisting eye cup has a good amount of movement making it easier to comfortably rest the monocular against your eye or glasses. (Image credit: Gavin Stoker) The manufacturer also uses ED Prime glass (Extra-Low Dispersion Glass) in their lenses. Compared to ordinary lenses, ED Prime glass prevents color fringing at high magnification. In other words, you get a significantly clearer image. notice the blurring at the periphery of the view. focus distance at 6.0ft/1.8m. It's certainly within the 8.0ft/2.4m close focus distance we recommend for bird watchers.

Every product from Upland Optics is designed by and for hunters. This means that the Perception HD offers exceptional glass, great durability, and weather-resistance. The Japanese-made Celestron 8x32 Ultima I owned also matched the apparent resolution of the 8x32 SE, but it also had a small sweet spot and "crummy" edges. The Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 10x25 has a crisp and clear image in nearly all settings except direct sunlight. The Legend performs outstandingly, but the Nikon Trailblazer 8x25 edges it out, solely because the Legend washes out in direct sunlight. Magnification We have reviewed five of the top options for hunters, so you can narrow your search to find the best pair for your outdoor adventures. These pairs range in price and features, so there’s something for everyone. surfaces. (We've had our share of problems with eyepieces fogging over when simply bringing them up to our eyes in cold Although we didn't perceive a significant difference when we were using them, you may find that they make it Sitting under the Legend Ultra HD series within Bushnell's lineup is their "standard" Legend range. Although it gets a little more complicated in that this range is then further sub-divided into three separate sub-series: the E, L & M.

A magnesium chassis may be a little heavier than plastic, but is more durable and just makes the instrument feel like it is of a higher quality. The Bushnell Legend Ultra HD we tested was stamped with the model number and "China." We're guessing that this means the This patented, permanent, water-repellent coating causes moisture from rain, snow, sleet or condensation to bead up and scatter less light, so you get a clear, bright view when other optics would be rendered useless We're quite comfortable recommending the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD as a solid value for the money for a wide variety of binocular users from Our interest lies in finding out how much of the field of view is useable. To say it differently, how big is the opticalPerfect for observing wildlife with magnifications from 20x to 60x. Some Bushnell spotting lenses are collapsible and completely portable. A lightweight and compact, versatile binocular, the Bushnell Legend retains a high magnification power and is sold at a reasonable price. Performance Comparison I'm impressed with the way Chinese-made bins have improved. Recently, I tried the Monarch III, Hawke Frontier (open bridge design), and Frontier ED. Didn't like the ED model, but the other two put up very nice images for their price points.

the resolution of details made it seem as though we were close enough to have reached out and touched her. Rainguard HD Hydropphobic Coating - Ensures your view stays bright and clear when conditions aren't. Patented, permanent water-repelling coatings causes moisture to bead up and scatter less light providing a clear, bright view when other optics would be rendered useless. But I could see some difference in good light. To cut to the chase, the M is the best. It’s the most expensive, with the best spec, so you’d expect it to be and it is. The E is perfectly functional, but suffered from colour fringing more than the others. The view through the L is easier on the eye than the E, but the M is the best. Sharpness is good on the E, but better on the L and the M. Due to the nature of the design, when we asked our Bushnell friend about it he confirmed that the company doesn't feel that ED lenses would Some speak well of the discontinued 43MM non-ED partially it seems from Japanese construction and others claimed that between the ED legend and Elite that there isn't that much difference optically.
