About this deal

It’s really fun when traits are narrowed down enough so that you can figure it out because of your own dinosaur traits. For example, one guest may be narrowed down enough to know it could be between two dinosaurs. But if you’re one of those dinosaurs, then you know exactly who they are. As with other offerings from Restoration Games, ‘ Dinosaur Tea Party’ is basically a reincarnation of an earlier game. In this case, 1976’s ‘Whosit?’ has been reborn as a prehistoric social gathering.Parker Brothers ‘Whosit?’ is definitely one of their lesser known titles, you won’t find it at the top of many lists that’s for sure. So while this game is said to be a ‘reimplementation’ it is very much it’s own thing. Gameplay is extremely simple and can be played in about 15 minutes… but boy is it fun! Players are dealt a random card showing one of the guests at the tea party and then each person takes a turn at asking the other guests questions to deduce their identity. With various identifying factors like glasses, pets, cups of tea and flowery adornments, there are plenty of questions to identify these reptilian partygoers.

I’m just amazed how much even the little kids know about dinosaurs. Test their knowledge with one of the many dinosaur quizzes out there. 5. Dinosaur Egg and Spoon Race There’s something strangely satisfying about deducing that your significant other is a pancake eating velociraptor named Lloyd and it’s clear that Restoration Games really had fun with this title. Yes, it’s silly and quirky but when life gets a bit too serious this kind of game can bring some much needed levity. All of the dinosaurs at the party have certain traits shown on the bottom of their tiles and on their cards. The traits are: Even easier solution is to attach a gummy or chocolate dinosaur to a cookie with a little bit of melted chocolate or candy coating.A fun cooperative game: Dinosaur Escape by Peaceful Kingdom. It is for 2-4 players so it’s a great game for small party. 10. Touch Dino Egg (Football)

Those add a lot of fun to the game. They keep the game from being straight out open information. To get that extra edge, players should always keep those quirks in mind. And we love it when we get a dinosaur card showing us we’re one of the dinosaurs with a quirk. The Switches Answers quirk is a fun one to play. We’ve played Dinosaur Tea Party with adults and kids at 3, 4 and 5 players and have enjoyed this game so much. The kids ask to play every night and it’s hard to say no to something that gets our family laughing and having fun as we come to the end of a long day. However, what sets ‘Dinosaur Tea Party’ apart is the fact that it is quite simply… charming! Ever since the 90s, thanks mostly to Jurassic Park, my favourite dinosaur has always been the Dilophosaurus; mean, green and absolutely terrifying. Here though, the venom spitting reptile is presented as a glamorous, bespectacled socialite going by the name of Jeanine and it’s this level of absurdity mixed with the glorious artwork that really brings the game to life. “One Lump Or Two?”

You can have a dino-some party without going nuts in the planning stage. After all parties should not make you need therapy unless it is My Tuesday Therapy. To begin, each player is assigned a character card secretly, representing their dinosaur persona for the tea party. These cards serve as the foundation for deduction and intrigue throughout the game. The reference cards provide a handy reminder of the various traits and characteristics, making it easy to navigate the world of dinosaurs and their tea preferences. Unveiling Secrets In A Tea Party Players can make a guess about the identity of another player on their turn. If they are correct, they get a sugar cube. If they are wrong they have wasted their turn and possibly helped another player at the table. The first to gain 3 sugar cubes wins the game. Now it’s time to get dressed because I have a tea with some prehistoric friends that starts in 5 minutes. Isn’t that how the dinosaur party planning starts. Roaring with excitement or is it roaring with stress.

Dinosaur Tea Party is a really impressive deduction game that was created for families and people who can laugh at themselves. I love the way Restoration uses the attribute tiles in the game because it means that people with not so great memories aren’t at a disadvantage. Each tile has an icon on one side and the same icon with an X over the top on the other side. If a players dinosaur is not showing it’s teeth, they flip the tile to the side with an X over the teeth and leave it in front of them. This light deduction game is just the right amount of deductive work for players of almost every age. The player tokens used for this purpose are made to resemble tea bags which is a lovely touch. To win the game you will need to correctly ascertain the identity of 3 dinosaurs, each time gaining a sugar cube as a reward. I love the idea of the sugar cubes, it keeps the game grounded in this world of a make believe tea party. All of the components feel to be of a very sturdy quality and will hold up to a lot of playtime. What’s more, this is the first time I’ve come across a rulebook that includes recipes for afternoon tea. The theme is definitely strong with this one! Final Thoughts Separate the foods into Herbivore, Carnivore, and Sweetivore and label the food with fun dinosaur themed names. 1. Dinosaur Party Food Names One of the strengths of Dinosaur Tea Party is its replayability. Each game unfolds differently as players employ different strategies and face new combinations of dinosaurs. The element of surprise and unpredictability keeps the game fresh and engaging, ensuring that no two tea parties are ever the same. The desire to uncover all the hidden identities and improve deduction skills makes Dinosaur Tea Party a game you’ll want to revisit time and time again. You can also spice it up a bit by using the quirks to add a little complexity, I only wish there were more of them.

Dinosaur Fossil Dig

Dinosaur Tea Party showcases captivating artwork that brings the prehistoric creatures to life. The illustrations are vibrant, whimsical, and full of personality. Each dinosaur has its own distinct style and charm, making them endearing and memorable. The attention to detail in the artwork adds to the immersion, enhancing the overall experience of the game. A Delightful Tea Party Adventure Likewise, you may choose to guess traits of other guests based on which traits your dinosaur has so that when they’re being narrowed down, you know slightly a bit more than others. I’ve got 2 sugar cubes already. Can I be the first to get my third and final cube to win?

Restoration took the game Whosit? from the mid-70’s and rebuilt the game with some of the greatest illustrations I’ve ever seen. We’ve already had people ask us if the artist is selling prints of these cards! I have no idea, but I would buy one. If you’re a product of the 80’s like myself, you’ll see a connection to the game Guess Who? While this is a legit comparison, it doesn’t capture the ridiculous fun that this game brings to the table. Players continue taking turns until one player has correctly identified 3 guests (claimed 3 sugar cubes). That player wins the game! Looks like Carlton will always say “No” this game. The gameplay mechanics are easy to grasp, making Dinosaur Tea Party accessible to both casual and seasoned gamers. The limited information available and the need to carefully choose questions keep players engaged and thinking. As the tea party progresses, the mystery unfolds, and players must use their deduction skills to unravel the secrets hidden amidst the tea and scones.Players secretly look at the dinosaur card they were dealt — that’s the guest they are — and they’re ready to play.
