Hair care machine and accessories, which include, but are not limited to, the Dyson Supersonic™, Dyson Airwrap™, Dyson Corrale™, and Dyson Airstrait™ are not eligible for price matching. Like the Ball Animal 2 the Multi-Floor has two filters. 1 pre-motor filter and 1 post-motor filter (they both come with the vacuum). Both are washable which is nice as it decreases consumables. The pre-motor filter is located in the center of the cyclones and is very easy to remove and reattach. The post motor filter is HEPA grade and is located inside the ball mechanism. It is a little more of a pain to access the HEPA filter as you have to take off one side of the ball but Dyson has strived to make this easier. Having a HEPA filter is important to asthma or allergy sufferers. A HEPA filter will remove the likes of pet dander, t obacco smoke, dust mites, pollen, mold spores, etc.The Dyson Ball Multi-Floor 2 is also certified asthma & allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Hair care machine and accessories, which include, but are not limited to, the Dyson Supersonic™, Dyson Airwrap™, and Dyson Corrale™, are not eligible for price matching. Intentional cosmetic decoration or modification that may impact a product’s resale, refurbishment, restoration or usability will void the terms of your product’s warranty and the Dyson return policy.

Asthma and allergy sufferers will be happy to know that the Multi Floor 2 is certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. Lower price will not be honored if the result of a violation of a Dyson unilateral advertising or pricing policy or if doing so would result in a violation of a Dyson policy. If the thought of touching any dust or debris has you reaching for the hand sanitizer, don’t panic just yet.We found the Mutli Floor cleaning performance on carpet to be quite close to that of the Ball Animal 2 which is not surprising given the machines are similar. The cleaner head is pretty much the same and the suction on both machines is very strong (although the suction on the Ball Animal 2 is slightly higher). The video below shows the cleaning performance on low pile carpet, which is quite good. The other learning curve here applies to the dirt cup. The ones we’ve encountered so far have one button that releases it from the rest of the vacuum and another button at the lip of the bottom of the cup that flips open the trap door so you can empty the dirt. The Multi Floor 2 combines these buttons: You push it to release the cup from the handle and push it harder to release the trap door when you’re over a garbage can. We don’t have a guess as to why the Dyson company felt this way was better than two separate buttons. We don’t think it saved any weight, and the first time we tried it, we accidentally released the dirt we’d just vacuumed up onto the floor in front of the trash can. Did we mention you should consider reading the instructions first? Dyson’s corded upright vacuum cleaners offer high performance on all floor types and are easy to manoeuvre, thanks to pioneering Ball™ technology – a glass-reinforced polypropylene ball that enhances sound insulation and protects over 100 key components, whilst allowing accurate steering and stability.

I just tried to use the very expensive attachments from my older Dyson DC17 on this newer one. They don't fit!! The hose fitting is the same size as the attachment end. Evidently the old Dyson had a slightly larger fitting than this new one and now my attachments are worthless to me. I'm not about to spend a bunch of money for more attachments, so it's off to the garage to build an adapter to get these to work on the new Dyson. I have owned some of the other brands and can tell you that things like emptying the canister without a cloud of dust or have to reach in and pull out hair and objects are where a Dyson excels and is not measured by these organizations. The mobility and maneuverabiity of the vacuum is very good, slightly better than the Dyson Ball Animal 2, in our opinion, due to the reduced weight. The ball mechanism work fairly well and it is easy to turn the vacuum. The ball is on the large side however and can limit the extent to which you can get under low furniture. There have also been complaints about the difficulty of moving the vacuum on deep pile carpet, so we bought some deep pile carpet (very deep 1.96 inch pile) and ran both the Shark APEX AX952 and Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 on it with the brushrolls turned on - see video below. The Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor 2 utilises a clever Pneumatic cleaner head that has its own surface recognition sensor. Whilst some vacuum cleaners require you to change the cleaner head when cleaning a different type of surface, the Big Ball Multi Floor 2’s Pneumatic cleaner head automatically raises and lowers to seal in maximum suction power across all floor types, including carpets, rugs, hard floors, laminate, tiled floors, stairs and upholstery.

In addition, the Multi-Floor uses radial root cyclone technology (the cyclones are the futuristic looking gold-colored tubes on top of the dust canister). Dyson claims that its radial root cyclone technology is capable of capturing more microscopic dust than any other cyclone technology on the market. In theory this should keep your filters cleaner longer. Less filter cleaning equals less hassle and less vacuum down time.

The above issue also extends to some area rugs. A few owners have indicated that area rugs sometimes pull up off the floor which can be annoying. Lower price will not be honored if the result of a violation of a Dyson unilateral advertising or pricing policy or if doing so would result in a violation of a Dyson policy. Want a smaller Dyson upright:It’s no surprise that Dyson makes some massive upright vacuum cleaners. The Multi Floor 2 is a nice option because it’s a little smaller than other models, but still provides excellent suction power and cleaning performance. RELATED:Despite the reduced suction power, the Dyson V10 still scored 100% on our cleaning performance test in the Modern Castle home test. See our testing results here. What is the “Dyson Ball”? At the base of the Multi Floor 2 uprightis the Dyson Ball. Dyson uses their Ball design for all of their upright vacuum cleaners. The Ball allows for easy maneuverability and tight turns, as needed. What about the brushroll? We also tested the vacuum on tile flooring (with the same debris as the low pile carpet test above). We had the brushroll off and the vacuum therefore depends on suction to pull up debris. The active base plate shines here ON SMALL TO MEDIUM DEBRIS and it does a great job of focusing suction under the cleaner head. There is an issue however. While the active base plate drops down to limit suction loss around the head perimeter, the low profile inadvertently stops some large debris from getting under the head. You can see this below with the fruit loops on the tile surface: Design– Feels like an intentionally designed vacuum that works well together. Every design element improves usability, performance, or both. The cleaning path width of this vacuum is stated as 13.4 inches. It turns out that the width of the cleaner head is exactly 13.4 inches. Lower price will not be honored if the result of a violation of a Dyson unilateral advertising or pricing policy or if doing so would result in a violation of a Dyson policy. If you’re looking for a light vacuum cleaner, then this cylinder vacuum would not be a good option. It should be straightforward to glide around the home due to running on ball technology, but it’s heavier than many of the latest vacuums. It’s also corded, so has to be plugged in at all times when you want to use it. If you have pets and want a vacuum that will remove pet hair, you might be better off looking at the Big Ball Animal 2, which has its own pet tool, unlike the Multi Floor 2.

The Multi Floor model offers 250 AW (air watts) of suction power. By comparison, the Dyson Animal 2, Dyson’s most powerful upright to date, offers 306 AW of suction power. The maintenance costs for the Dyson Multi Floor 2are minimal, considering the lifetime washable filter and the bagless design. THE FOLLOWING I WROTE IN RESPONSE TO A COMMENT) "every impartial testing organization ranks all Dyson vacuums as sub-par" - actually that is not totally true, first you have to realize that organizations such as Consumer Reports (what other "unbiased" testing organization is there??) give a lot of weight to cost, noise and other factors that have little to do with the actual performance and dependability of the units. The Dyson Multi Floor 2is a moderate size for an upright vacuum cleaner. It’s about 2 pounds lighter than the Dyson Animal upright, but also 2 pounds heavier than the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro. too much suction, hard to push" - really? You are gonna complain that a vacuum cleaner has too much suction huh? You really want to go there? Well to be honest on certain types of carpets it does become harder to push and She Who Must Be Obeyed has to work with it to pull it across certain spots (or call on her trusty husband using her wifely wiles), but guess what, cleans the devil out of those carpets, gee , must be all that SUCTION!!UPDATE: NOTE: My comments ONLY reflect my opinion of this model, some other Dyson models are not as well rated. In the end, the Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 vacuum is an above average performer sold at a reasonable price point. If you’re in the market for a new upright and want to be sure you’re receiving a quality product, I believe you will be hard pressed to find another upright at this price with as strong of a performance as the Multi Floor 2. Dyson Multi Floor 2 Specifications Most of the maintenance costs would be chalked up to replacement parts that may occasionally wear out.
