If Alyson never told Eddy that she was responsible for Mary-Ann's death and she believes that she saved Tyler from their mother, Alyson opts not to sell the house and moves in by herself and writes a new chapter in The Book of Goblins. Since it was announced in November 2019, the game has been noted for being the first AAA video game to feature a transgender person as a main character. The developers consulted with expert groups for its themes, notably GLAAD, a non-governmental organization (NGO) monitoring media coverage of LGBT people, to ensure authentic and respectful portrayal of LGBT characters. A trans man was cast as the voice actor for Tyler Ronan, one of the two main characters, who had transitioned during his time away from his sister. Top Five is a game that asks players to list the top five personal favorites in each category. To play this game, participants make best-of lists and share those answers with the group.

You play as Tyler and Alyson throughout each chapter, swapping between them and learning the unique perspective they have on events. Each twin has a different interpretation of the past, and having to side with one of them while maintaining their bond as siblings makes for some excellent dramatic moments, and several dialogue decisions can have a huge impact on the plot you initially won’t suspect. To design your game, first gather data by asking employees to fill out a survey. Then, make a multiple-choice style quiz in Kahoot. Players enter the game room pin and answer questions on mobile devices, and the app automatically keeps score.Children tend to have limited attention spans, and games should ideally be short and easy to understand. As Tell Me Why‘s story progresses throughout the three chapters, you’ll shift between watching cutscenes and being free to explore certain areas of the game’s world. You’re never herded down a path, and so your progress never feels linear – even if it technically is. You’ll come across numerous puzzles, some of which you can choose to solve, or simply brute-force your way to the result. Other times, you’ll feel like a true detective. One of my favourite moments of the game comes in chapter two, when you’re tasked with sifting through a police archive. You’ll flit between the computer database and physical boxes, gathering file names and key pieces of information as you go. Taking place in the quaint Alaskan town of Delos Crossing, Tell Me Why benefits from its more intimate scale. The entire game takes place across a small selection of locations, with every named character playing a vital role in the overall narrative. You’ll come to care for them, learning of their motivations and how the death of a mother once thought unimportant had lasting consequences on the lives of so many people.

Todd Martens from Los Angeles Times said the game attracted media attention when it was announced due to the developers' decision to feature Tyler as one of its lead characters, as well as their release of an extensive FAQ that sought to explain how it handled the portrayal of Tyler. [2] Martens suggested that while the FAQ may be interpreted as trying to stay in control of a social media narrative, it also represented relatively uncommon minority representation resulting in an "extremely close reading" otherwise. As a transgender person myself, I’m far too familiar with queer identities being framed through tragedy or as a bigoted punchline in a number of mediums. We’re seldom allowed to be happy or feel proud about our existence in the wider world, but Tell Me Why supersedes this quandary with the excellent depiction of Tyler Ronan. The snowy, rural settings you find yourself exploring are lovely places to look at, and there are little details to rootle out if you want to. Tyler and Aly can look at various different objects and comment on them if they have an interaction point, and there are some nice conversations to be had that aren't strictly necessary for advancing the plot. It's fun to get Tyler to comment on stuff to do with fishing, for example, since it's one of his favourite hobbies. Aly is more into astronomy. If I Were is a game that encourages players to imagine themselves in different situations. To play the game, read out the prompts and give each participant a turn to respond. These exercises are a subset of team building games and icebreaker games, and are similar to connection games, 5 minute team builders, and community building activities. Never Have I Ever gets players to fess up to questionable behavior. Each player starts the game by holding up ten fingers. Participants take turns making “Never Have I Ever…” statements, and players must lower one finger if guilty of the behavior. The game ends when only one player still has fingers up or after a certain number of rounds. Here are answers to some common questions about get to know you games. Tell Me Why is an episodic adventure game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game consists of three chapters released for Windows and Xbox One in late 2020. It follows a pair of twins, Tyler and Alyson, with the ability to communicate with each other through telepathy, who reunite after ten years in their hometown in rural Alaska and investigate the death of their mother. A recurring theme of the story is the fallibility of memory, as the narrative explores the twins' childhood trauma and how they may each remember pivotal moments differently. Tell Me is very much the kind of game that you can imagine being brought out at Christmas or after a family gathering. A sort of educational bit of fun for all the family. What family games should be in my opinion. Tyler and Aly are both very charismatic people, and during the course of Tell Me Why's three episodes (the second and final ones of which are out on September 3rd and September 10th respectively) you switch control between them. There's a lot of nuance in how their personalities have been shaped by those ten years apart from each other, and how their perspectives have changed because of it. I loved the conversations where they start off talking about games they played as children when they were very close - navigating the crawl space under the house, for example, where Aly misremembers which way to turn after the treasure chest - but which end up running into how they're now adults who have lived very different lives for the past while.
