The rumor mill of Olympus is constantly churning, but Persephone and Hades are all anyone can talk about. With the constant gossip creating intense pressure on the pair, they decide to slow down their budding romance and focus on sorting out their own issues first. also minthe; hate her so much in every single one of the retellings, i really hope she doesn't cause drama in the second part just as hadespersephone are finally gonna start interacting! Volume One collects episodes 1-25 of the WEBTOON comic. Volume Two collects episodes 26-49. Volume Three collects episodes 50-75. Volume Four collects episodes 76 -102. Volume Five collects episodes 103-126. Volume Six collects episodes 127-152.

The ending was extremely intense, though. Definitely a lot more heavy than what I ever thought we would get considering the light tone of the rest of the story.A refreshingly modern and surprisingly poignant take on the Hades and Persephone myth . . . steamy, often laugh-out-loud funny, and emotional.”—Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times bestselling author of From Blood and Ash

Persephone, young goddess of spring, is new to Olympus. Her mother, Demeter, has raised her in the mortal realm, but after Persephone promises to train as a sacred virgin, she's allowed to live in the fast-moving, glamorous world of the gods. Steamy, often laugh-out-loud funny and emotional' Jennifer L. Armentrout, # 1 New York Times bestselling author of From Blood and Ash Rachel Smythe’s Lore Olympus is a stunning reimagining of classical myth. Smythe adapts the story ofPersephone and Hades, removing it from its dark origins and building a brand-new epic with her owncomplex and beautiful characters. The rest of the gods, nymphs, and creatures of Smythe’s world are theicing on top.” —Liv Albert, author of Greek Mythology: The Gods, Goddesses, and Heroes Handbook and creator of Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! podcast Smythe's take on classic myth is anything but hidebound. These gods play the same interpersonal games that dominate today's sexually frank, cell-phone-mediated social world. This edition of Smythe's original Eisner Award-winning webcomic Lore Olympus features exclusive behind-the-scenes content and brings the Greek pantheon into the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel.

In case you’re wondering, Lore Olympus on Webtoon has the same plot, characters and chapters as the graphic novel series. The art in this series is freaking amazing, the style is so beautiful and unique and even if the plot wasn't all that great (FYI it is fantastic), I would still give it 5 stars for the art. I read Lore Olympus ( the Webtoon series) about 2-3 years ago when Webtoon was still a fresh comic/manga app. Since coming to Olympus, Persephone has struggled to be the perfect maiden goddess. Her attraction to Hades has only complicated the intense burden of the gods' expectations. And after Apollo's assault, Persephone fears she can no longer bury the intense feelings of hurt and love that she's worked so hard to hide. This edition of Smythe’s original Eisner-winning webcomic Lore Olympus bringsGreek mythologyinto the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel. All of Olympus-and the Underworld-are talking about the God of the Dead and the sprightly daughter of Demeter. But despite the rumors of their romance, Hades and Persephone have plenty to navigate on their own.

Witness what the gods do after dark in the fifth volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content from creator Rachel Smythe. If reading about mythological god clowning around while spreading gossip and scandal is intriguing to you, Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe is a must. Setting Greek myth in a modern day society of fast cars and bars, Lore Olympus is comedic and playful with the well-known characters in a way that is fresh and just thoroughly entertaining. Originally released as a webtoon (read it here), this graphic novel compiles the first 25 episodes in full color to show off Smythe’s wonderfully stylized artwork. Using the Hades and Persephone story as an anchor around which all the other god’s stories play out and cross paths, Smythe retells the myth without the horrific rape and instead as a cute story of shy romance. These are the gods of Olympus here, so while it is playful and fairly lighthearted it is also dark and filled with toxic interactions, manipulations and assaults—as one would probably expect but heads up. This is a treat for those who know the stories, but if you are unfamiliar with Greek mythology or only have a basic understanding this book won't make you feel outside of it at all and, if anything, will really welcome you in and be easy to follow. With sharp and colorful art that really pops and spirited, modernized retellings that demonstrate a true love for the source material, Lore Olympus is a delightful success. Some feel that they don’t need to own the graphic novel since it’s essentially the same as the comics, whereas some fans want to collect the volumes and get satisfaction from reading the physical copy. Now Persephone must navigate the confusing politics and relationships that rule Olympus, while also figuring out her own place - and her own power. It's easy to see why the internet has fallen in love with Lore Olympus. This dazzling interpretation of the classic Greek myths is as charming as it is provocative, and as witty as it is startlingly romantic. Prepare to be swept away!
