Once a character falls from the ‘latest’ legend to ‘classic’, it’s almost impossible to improve that character further. There is a shard system in place to help with this but unfortunately it is nowhere near helpful enough as the amount of shards received is so minimal that they are almost not worth having. For example, you would have to attempt 167 classic/latest legend tokens just to get enough shards to add 1 level to a character of your choice.
