Without prejudice to any other rights, Solid State Logic may terminate this EULA if You fail to comply with any of the terms of this EULA. In such an event, all rights granted to You under this EULA shall cease, You must cease all activities authorised by this EULA and You must destroy all copies of the Software and all of its component parts within your control.
Certain software libraries and other third party software included with the Software are free software and licensed under the terms of open source Licences. You may obtain a complete source code copy of such free software under the terms of the Licence if applicable, without charge at www.solidstatelogic.com/about/open-source-software. Important Note for SSL 2 - USB C to C connections are not supported for this Mac update. Connect to a USB A port on your Mac to avoid update failure. If your Mac only has USB C ports, a USB hub that has a USB A connection will be required (with a USB A to C cable). You only need one cable to plug yourSSL 2 or SSL 2+into your computer- USB-C. This will carry audio AND provide enough power for the interface (yes - even the full 48V needed for phantom power.) Both come with a USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cable. As USB-C is becoming more widely used, you’ll probably find if you’ve forgotten yours, someone will have a spare! No more unique connectors or searching for a spare plug. With a laptop, you could record pretty much anywhere you desire.

The actual control layout of the interface is logical and simple to use, the knobs and buttons feel very solid and sturdy. Both units feel very sturdy and well built. Many of the giants who bestrode the world of recording during the heyday of the large-format console are long gone. The manufacturers that have survived are those who have adapted successfully, moving into the new markets created by the explosion in digital recording and home-studio gear. Now part of the Audiotonix group, Solid State Logic still make awe-inspiring analogue and digital mixing consoles, with prices to match — but they also cater very effectively to the project-studio market. Over the years, they've introduced a number of innovative products with compact footprints and focused feature sets that retain the high quality levels we all associate with the brand. The 4K buttons boost signal a few dB and add some noise - sometimes it can be used creatively (e.g. on DI bass or even microphone ) but if you want a really clean sound, they will indeed distort the signal. Sound quality is excellent, as you would expect from a company like Solid State Logic. The legacy 4k mode is wonderful for adding a bit of "air" to your recordings as it adds a very musical HF boost which you will love. Worth noting that this a pre-recording option only not post, so you can't reverse or remove it if you record with it enabled. Some notes from my point of view after full-time using it for about 5-6 weeks.
