a b c d e f g "Interrupters songs and albums - full Official Chart history". Official Charts . Retrieved October 2, 2023. Chances are that fans will. The Interrupters have built up a strong following over the years, one that has been bolstered by the band’s accessibility. Even though they sing about adult matters, the group avoids adult language in their music and stage banter. “A lot of people tell us that we’re the only band that the whole family can agree on, from the parents through the kids,” says Aimee. She’s not wrong: go to any Interrupters show, and you’ll see all ages of fans, from the elderly to kids with their parents. “We like that many generations are connected to it,” she says. I fell into so many self-destructive patterns trying to come to terms with my childhood,” Aimee Interrupter says of the inspiration for the song. “I spent so long trying to run from the pain. No matter how far I ran, there I was…. I realized I needed to make peace with who I saw in the mirror.” Yeah,” says Kevin. “As the producer, I really hear that in her performances: the urgency and just the emotion, and every song has such an identity sonically to me. It jumps out of the speakers and speaks directly to me. And I hope that everyone else hears it the same way I do.” Fight the Good Fight: "ARIA Report: Issue 1480" (PDF). ARIA. I took that time to do a lot of healing and a lot of growth. Kevin and the twins were building the studio, and I was undergoing treatment for depression, and just writing so many lyrics. It was important for me to take the time to write and be introspective, and have that therapeutic process. It was like going through a personal inventory, and it was a time of rebirth for me. That’s the best word I can find for it: rebirth.Woolsey, Brittany. "The Interrupters Learn to Fight the Good Fight From Bands Like Green Day and Rancid – OC Weekly". I found out about this treatment called TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), which stimulates the part of the brain that causes depression. I did it every day for six weeks and and they put a helmet on me and stimulated that part of my brain. It really helped me significantly with my mental health and my depression. I went from a 10 when I walked in - meaning when they analysed me I was the worst you could get - and when I was finished with my treatment I was a 2. I felt such a relief from depression and I couldn’t believe that the treatment worked. I was actually very sceptical but it worked and I would wake up in the morning and be happy I woke up and really excited about my day. And these were very foreign feelings to me. I'd never felt that before. The album wraps up with a modest yet earnest acoustic rendition of “Raised By Wolves”, that once again, in true Interrupters style features non excessive use of swear words, no call outs, no blasting, shaming, or anything that would be a bad influence on their audience. In the meantime, we made a live album [2021’s Live In Tokyo!] because concerts were gone. We were like, ‘We need to have an Interrupters concert immortalized, so let’s make a live album with a movie.’ And there was documentary footage with that movie [ This Is My Family]. We had to go through our childhood tapes of us growing up, playing music and singing. But in the process of that, all of the work we were doing and reflection we were doing did light this creative fire, in Aimee especially.”

We have to stay in the moment,” says Kevin. “Sometimes to our detriment, because stuff will start to pile up, and I’m like, ‘Oh no.’ And then all of this stuff, it seems really last minute.” (Jimmy Fontain) Are there moments where you have to pinch yourselves over the fact that people like Tim Armstrong and Green Day 's Billie Joe Armstrong are now part of that big extended family? All that aside I do wonder if ‘ Wolves’ is a vague reference to Rancid. Their …And Out Come the Wolves album is one of the biggest punk albums of all time and given the relationship between The Interrupters and Rancid’s Tim Armstrong (who appears on this album) it feels like a subtle nod at the very least. I looked for that feeling my entire life and I never found it, until this family,” she says, her voice catching. “When I met Kevin we became fast friends, and with the Bivonas I felt that I was surrounded by people that loved me. There was a lot of support. I felt like we were kindred spirits. I didn’t even have to say anything – I just felt understood. There was this really comfortable, safe feeling.”I just look at Kevin — we’re married, and he’s the producer,” she says. “So I’d just be like, ‘Hey, it’s 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. Why don’t you make some night coffee? I actually feel like singing right now.’ And he was a trooper. He was like, ‘All right. All right, let’s do it.'” It’s a stretch to say that there is a revival happening when it is really just one band leading it, but The Interrupters really do seem to be single-handedly reminding people that, if done with the right amount of reverence, then this music can be a beautiful thing.
