Specifically, the Drag X Pro now takes in 21700 cells, whereas the Drag X was limited to 18650 cells. All coils of the PnP X platform are designed with directional insertion, and the bottom of the coil will align to the bottom of the pod without a gap after complete insertion. Considering the coils are designed for Direct Lung vaping and produce a fair amount of vapour, this is more for someone who has perhaps been vaping a while, or for an experienced vaper who just needs a spare kit for out and about. With the looks, handling, and performance of the DRAG S Pro kit, there’s very little, if anything, not to like.Although it offers the capability of using an RBA or a 510 adaptor, I think the new pod on this kit is the far better option.It never felt like a pod in use and I often had to remind myself that it was.This will be a great starter kit, but it offers such a good DL vape that I think experienced vapers will also enjoy it.

The ‘Dual In One’ coils are my favourite, but not leaps and bounds above the rest, but generally all coils perform great. Is this device versatile to suit a new vaper, and an experienced one alike? I found my sweet spot at 40 watts. This is a slightly more restrictive vape than any of the others, and the flavour for me just doesn’t match any of the other coils. The new Drag S Pro, is an internal battery powered Pod Mod, with a maximum wattage of 80 Watts, 3000mah battery capacity, 5.5ml e-liquid capacity, 360 degree adjustable airflow, with both button and auto-draw functions, all using Voopoo’s new TPP coils to pump out some impressive vapour.

The battery size has been improved from the original 2500mah to 3000mah, maximum wattage has been upped from 60Watts at the top end to maximum 80Watts, and of course the new Drag S Pro is using Voopoo’s new Gene Fan 3.0 chip which has a boost function, able to push a higher voltage than previous models. This means you’re actually going to get the wattage advertised and even power for longer, whereas the older models would have the power drop off slightly as the battery drains.

Another nice little addition to the Drag S Pro is the rubber strip on the base of the device, it’s a nice addon, and means you’re mod sits nicely on the table and doesn’t get scratched. Generally speaking though, the Gene chip’s have been a very good performing chipset throughout their versions. Maybe some won’t love the large DRAG branding up front, but it blends better than it does on the mods. And after all, that’s one of the things the DRAG line is known for. The screen is large, colorful, and bright and wattage is visible even under direct sunlight. The transparent PCTG material used on the pods is a great fit for the mod and kinda looks like one of those sexy aftermarket transparent RDA caps. Seriously, even the airflow adjustment system looks awesome—and unlike the Vincis, the airflow is fully adjustable on the DRAGs. Color me impressed!

The front of the mods has the fire button, 0.96-inch TFT coloured screen, up and down adjustment buttons, USB-C port, and now the all-new & multifunctional toggle switch. The bright and vibrant screen displays expected vaping data such as battery life as an icon (not in percentage which could have been useful too), power, ohm load, voltage, duration of puff, and a puff counter. Again, my answer here will really depend on what you’d want out of a vape device. If you want a kit that needs very little maintenance, then the Drag S Pro is for you. Having an internal battery means you’d just need to plug the mod in to charge and you won’t need to faff about with cell polarities. The flipside of this, however, is that you can’t change the battery when it becomes faulty or goes bad. The fill porthole is again nicely sized and plenty big enough to accommodate most e-liquid nozzles. If I can give you any advice – remove the TPP-X Pod-Tank from the device if you plan on not using the device for the next 24-48 hours, because they do leak.Both devices also make use of Voopoo’s updated Gene 3.0 Chipset which includes their upgraded boost mode which should clear some of the ‘ underpowered‘ comments from their previous releases as it offer an 8.4v boost. Accessing “Mode” in the menu will allow you to switch between RBA and Smart modes. One thing to note as well, especially if you’ve used the more recent Drag releases, is that there is now no ability to switch the UI from Core to Iron. To be honest, though, this is non-impactful for me because I use my Drag devices in this UI anyways, with all the information upright with my mod.

One flaw to this coil – The power output required doesn’t do much good to your battery life, but the flavour is worth it. As always safety is paramount, so Voopoo don't skip over the details when ensuring you have all the necessary protections to keep you vaping safer for longer! The brand new Gene Fan 3.0 supports a multitude of safety systems as well as a power saving mode and voltage booster to improve overall performance by 30% I’ve preferred the Drag X Pro and Drag S Pro as thumb firers leaving your fingers wrapped around the leathery feeling surround. Personally with the DM1 coil requiring the 60-80 watts, it hasn’t lasted me a full day throughout the days I have been testing it, but if I’m honest, I vape a lot.
