This is a fantastic option for anyone who loves to explore nature or any kind of adventure around water bodies. The Binos are fully waterproof. At least you wouldn’t have to lose your expensive pair of Binos when you go into the water to feed and admire some waterfowls, geese or flamingos. Prisms help in correcting views orientation both horizontally and vertically, making the scene appear natural. The Bak4 roof prism system is the best as it not only facilitates increased light transmission for the best quality images but also reduces the weight of the binoculars. Eye relief Vortex Optics, being a family-owned and family-operated business since its humble beginnings in 1986 in Wisconsin, takes pride in putting the needs of its customers first. It began as a small outdoor retail store with a strong focus on offering personalized services. By banking on a customer-centric approach, it grew tremendously over the years. Today, while relatively young, it is one of the most reputable names in the sports optics industry.

Rather than the more widely used and less expensive achromatic doublet lens design that as the name suggests uses two lens elements within each lens, Vortex Razor UHD binoculars have apochromatic lenses that are usually made up of at least 3 lens elements. However, for the majority of users, this will be a non-issue as those who don't use glasses will usually have them in the fully extended position, whilst eyeglass users will probably have them completely twisted down. Fogproof and waterproof capabilities are essential in binoculars to ensure uncompromised performance, no matter how tough the situations get. In Vortex binoculars, the following materials are used to make them fog proof and waterproof: A step above the rest, these pair of binoculars were a fan favorite of our testers, you'll just need to fork over some serious cash for this level of quality There is no doubt the use of a magnesium chassis and not a plastic one contributes to this, but as you can see, there are many other magnesium instruments that weigh less and indeed the older Vortex Razor HD was also more lightweight. So what is the reason for the added weight?Right off the bat, and just by looking at it, you can tell that the protective case is well made and that a whole lot of thought has gone into the design. Indeed it is so good that it deserves a review all on its own, which I do plan to do in due course, but for now, you will have to be content with my brief overview:

I also like that far from being generic and designed to fit and be used with almost any bino on the market, the ones that you get with this instrument are branded with the Vortex logo, once again making them add to the overall look of the binocular in a more positive way than most. As with the increaded weight, this once again down to the use of the Abbe Koenig roof prisms that have a more elongated shape to them. Note I go into this in more detail in the optics section below. Plus, the ArmorTek coating makes the lenses scratch-proof and dirt proof. You will have an easier time cleaning it as dirt and oil can hardly adhere to them.In addition to the physical APO arrangement, the actual glass used for the lens elements is also of a higher level than your typical mid or even high range instrument. Filled with argon gas and sealed with O-ring sealing, it offers fogproof and waterproof capabilities. Moisture and dust won’t easily penetrate the binoculars, giving you the confidence you need in the extreme outdoors.
