Keep your eyes on those meat trees, and don’t get too close to some of those smaller pieces of scenery – they can be deadly. The Core Book

This may be the best box set release Games Workshop has ever put together for Warcry. The warbands are iconic right from the jump and they're diametrically opposed to one another in design, play style, and overall warband ethos. The terrain, while a bit difficult to assemble (those muscled trees take some precision gluing), is evocative, fun to paint and really sets the mood (and there are fun rules for fighting around them). All the dice and other materials are as high quality as you'd expect, and the new rules - especially the reactions - are a bold step forward in the design of the game. I can't put it more plainly, Warcry Heart of Ghur is an absolute triumph for the game, and will continue to propel the Warcry hobby forward. Even without the details painted, this terrain looks amazing in color Should I Buy Warcry Heart of Ghur? They may carry hammers and other tools of the forge, but the Horns of Hashut prefer destruction to creation. They harness the power of fire and leave nothing but charred corpses in their wake, just as Hashut demands.* Fresh weapons emerge from Forge World for your games of Adeptus Titanicus – in this case the devastating Conversion Beam Extirpator for the Warlord Titan, a torso-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor each for the Reaver Titan, and an arm-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor for Warhound Scout Titan. All three devices are cast in resin – and terrifying weapons of immense destructive force. But ours did not want to go together. No matter how much pushing and shoving, jigging and re-rigging we did, we could not get get two halves of the pit to sit comfortably together. Whilst you can’t see it in the image below, there’s about a 1.5mm gap on the far side of the model where the two halves would not go together. From a cost perspective, the value of this set is sufficient; in isolation, perhaps even strong. It is, however, difficult to ignore how fantastic the original Warcry core box was. While the warbands here are just as intriguing as the previous group, the initial terrain set was one of the best contained sets of scenery Games Workshop has ever released, so it’s difficult for Heart of Ghur to measure up. The Gnarlwood is still an outstanding environment to spill blood in, and it comes to life admirably with spiteful trees and gleaning skulls.

Gameboard and Terrain

Bring out the really big guns with this indispensable compendium of narrative and rules content for Adeptus Titanicus. I nside you will find some of the Horus Heresy’s greatest battles at Beta-Garmon, Ryza, Molech, the Belt of Iron, and the Realm of Ultramar. There are 27 narrative missions allowing you to re-fight the major battles of these conflicts, from the betrayal of Legio Praesagius at Ithraca to the subjugation of Urdesh and the extermination of Legio Damicium. You will need the Warcry Core Rule Book to use the rules content included in this box, and the models (as is the case with all Warcry big box releases) come unpainted and unassembled, so you'll need the proper tools to put them together. Warcry Nightmare Quest - What's The Story? Crypt of Blood is the new Warcry starter set, and is firmly targeted at introducing new players to the game. The box contains everything you need to start playing! The Set

Personally, I’m not a huge Khorne fan, but Garfy loves the models and thinks they fit very well in his large Slaves to Darkness collection. In any case, the Claws of Kharanak capture the bestial side of Khorne well and the details and faces are well rendered. Gnarlwood terrain The stars have aligned, the orreries have rotated into place, and the sacred spawning pools have been frothing like an overpowered jacuzzi. That’s right – the Seraphon are getting new models and a new battletome.A duo of spiteful spirits from the World-that-Was find new purpose in the Revenant Wargrove, enacting the most extreme of Alarielle’s judgements upon the realms. Drycha Hamadreth and the Spirit of Durthu are joined by a Treelord, 10 Spite-Revenants, and 16 Dryads. Curseling, Eye of Tzeentch Here’s everything you get inside the Hunter & Hunted box (minus the miniatures, which we’ll look at separately shortly).

At its core, Heart of Ghur is nearly identical to the preexisting Warcry ruleset. But it does move the game forward in two key areas. This particular knot of Gnarlwood is represented by even more fleshy Gnarloaks, plus a scattering of palisades and ruins. New to the box are bamboo platforms for your cheeky Chameleon Skinks to skulk about from on high, plus a comfy Hollow Refuge – which gives a glimpse of how warbands might survive in such a hostile environment.** This is a wonderful beginning to Warcry’s second age. My imagination and passion are primed for the supplements to come and for Games Workshop’s best game to continue its reign. The Sybarites box is an exciting proposition for a Slaanesh player. There’s no start collecting for Slaanesh mortals. These aren’t the most exciting units in the range, we’re not talking mounted and centrepiece models, but they’re reasonable battleline that you’re likely to use at least a unit of in a mortal army. The Painbringers also come with the option to build Twinsouls instead. You could do worse than this box and a Lord of Pain to start your Sybarite army. Kruleboyz
