About this deal

A safe environment. Cats are small, delicate animals that do well living mostly indoors. Although many cats love to roam free outside, other predatory animals and traffic, for example, can threaten their safety. Always monitor your cat’s whereabouts and keep an ID tag on its collar. Having your pet microchipped will allow shelters and veterinarians to easily identify you as the owner should your cat get lost. Although Advantage II products for dogs and cats contain the same active ingredients, the manufacturer does not advise using a dog product on a cat Advantage collects in the oils of the skin and hair, allowing for continual release, lending to its 30 day period of efficacy. Per the product label, a single application of Advantage can start killing cat fleas within 2 hours and can kill all adult fleas within 12 hours. It must continue to be applied once a month to prevent the chance of further infestations.

Advantage 40mg for Small Cats, Small Dogs and Pet Rabbits and Advantage 80mg for Large Cats and Pet Rabbits are clear yellow to slightly brownish solution containing as active substance imidacloprid. Each tube contains 0.4 ml (40 mg imidacloprid) and 0.8 ml (80 mg imidacloprid) respectively plus benzyl alcohol and butylhydroxytoluene (E321) as an antioxidant.

Products

Advantage®II contains pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator. Pyriproxyfen is distributed into the home on fur and skin shed by the pets and prevents flea eggs and larvae from developing into the next stage of the flea life cycle. It is not necessary to treat your home with sprays or other products if your pets are treated with Advantage®II and are allowed to roam your entire home. When used properly, side effects to Advantage products for cats are uncommon. Advantage II is labeled only for cats at least 8 weeks of age and Advantage Multi is only for cats at least 9 weeks of age. Topical products like Advantage should never be ingested.

If you’ve recently bathed your pet, it’s recommended you wait at least two days before treating them with Advantage flea drops.

A scratch pole. Many cats have a tendency to scratch and paw at drapes, furniture, and just about anything else that takes their fancy. Investing in a scratch pole or post will not only provide your cat with the scratching outlet they need, but also save you lots of money and frustration. Use antihistamines. Consult your doctor or local pharmacist about the best antihistamine for your cat allergy. Common symptoms such as a runny nose can often be treated with oral medication, while puffy, watery eyes can frequently be treated with eye drops. Health concerns. A healthy kitten or cat will have bright eyes and a shiny fur coat. Cat’s that appear thin or overweight or have a nasal discharge may have health problems. This article is primarily focused on the Advantage II product. You’ll learn about Advantage II for cats, its ingredients, the ranges of pests it targets, possible side effects to consider, and some frequently asked questions. You can, however, put a stop to the flea cycle even faster by washing your pet’s bedding in very hot water (and your bedding as well if your pet sleeps with you) and putting it in the dryer on a hot setting, if possible. Vacuuming your carpets and floors at least once a week can also encourage fleas to seek out the protection of a cat – who has already been treated with Advantage®II for cats.
