Description

Brugal 1888 Doblemente Añejado is a truly exceptional rum, produced in the Dominican Republic and combining the rich flavours of bourbon and sherry casks through a double-ageing process. Brugal's dedication to education is at the core of their mission, demonstrated through its university scholarship program and the construction of the Centro Educativo George Arzeno Brugal Fe y Alegría school, providing education to underprivileged children. miles away in Venice, family patriarch Angelo Orsoni founded his mosaic workshop, perfecting age-old techniques that 135 years later define Orsoni as one of the most prestigious mosaic studios today. Brugal has Distilleries in Puerto Plata where the rums are produced. The distribution and marketing offices are located in the capital city of Santo Domingo, and there is also a regional office in Santiago de los Caballeros, the Dominican Republic's second largest city. The company creates several varieties of rum. Brugal 1888 Rum is made from fresh, raw sugar cane, which is hand-cut from plantations across the Dominican Republic's countryside. Once the cane has been harvested, it is pressed and the remaining juice is turned into molasses. The molasses is then fermented for approximately 48 hours before it is twice distilled through Brugals' copper stills.

The drip-shaped smalti simultaneously represents molten glass forged by the fierce flames of the Orsoni furnace, where it is later hand-blown into sbruffo, a beautiful thin glass bubble that is cut and fused with 24k gold leaf to create Orsoni’s signature Venetian gold tiles, which encase this very bottle. wheated whiskey and wheat bourbon bottles to try if you can’t get your hands on any Pappy Van Winkle bourbon Through each generation, the passion, dedication, and love that these families feel for their craft has been passed down from father to son, mother to daughter — imbuing every drop of rum and every shard of smalti with their enduring legacy.Library of Inspiration represents the extensive cataloguing and preservation of Brugal's casks and Orsoni's coloured smalti, two of the most essential components in the creation of both exceptional rum and intricate mosaic artworks. It’s hard to imagine that the 1888 Gran Reserva wouldn’t also pair amicably with some hearty fare borne of the Dominican Republic. The spicy element of this exceptional rum would be perfectly balanced by some salty island specialties such as some tostones or croquetas, especially while waiting on a sancocho to make its way from the kitchen to your beachside table. At the bottom rests a carefully affixed label indicating the origin once more: “Roble Europeo Ex-Jerez; Roble Americano Ex-Bourbon” (ex-sherry European oak; ex-bourbon American Oak). Accompanying this is the signature of Brugal’s Master Roncero, certifying the individual quality. Our 'Legacy' theme encapsulates the deep respect for heritage that both Orsoni and Brugal have strived to impart to each successive generation. Each of the four bottles in this represents a unique aspect of the two brands’ legacies, told through the artistry of hand-cut Venetian mosaic. The Brugal family has spent over 135 years nurturing the art of rum-making, with each generation of Maestro Roneros adding their own unique touch to the family recipe. The Orsoni family is equally devoted to passing down the torch of tradition. Today’s mosaicist masters are all trained under the guidance of Angelo’s great grandson and mosaic Maestro Lucio Orsoni, who was instrumental in the creation of this very collection.

Per the recommendation of the Master Ronceros (Master Rummakers) from Puerto Plata, this distinguished rum should be enjoyed not only at room temperature, but at the ambient temperature of the Dominican Republic, around 76°F (24°C). Although springtime Philadelphia can offer some temperate afternoons, it did not quite reach this intended climate. Well rounded and smooth with body and character. Perceived sweetness of toffee and vanilla balanced with peach, cocoa and cloves. The sophisticated sweetness of red and dried fruits, raisins and dates, complement a spicy woodiness, with hints of cinnamon.

For moments...

Family encapsulates the most profound source of inspiration and connection felt between Mijares and Brugal. The piece depicts symbols of love, passion, hospitality, and the care that one feels upon entering the Brugal home. When crafting this 1888 Gran Reserva, the Master Ronceros at Brugal aimed to bring forth a spirit that could be sipped neat and wholly enjoyed without the need for companions. Their expertise and heritage is also intended to be showcased. Do I believe they have they achieved these goals? The rum is a beautiful dark brown color, and smells amazing as soon as you pour a bit in the glass. It has a lot of the same aromas you’d expect from a whiskey — brown sugar, vanilla, and baking spices — but there’s also a sweetness to the spirit that is well beyond what you get from something like a bourbon.

Brugal’s dedication to bringing out the best of its communities is matched only by the generosity and warm hospitality of its people – whether it's a tour of the distillery, a tasting experience, or simply sharing a glass of rum with friends, Brugal creates an environment that is inviting and inclusive, making everyone feel like part of the family. This dedication and warm approach has made a profound impact on the history of this small, but mighty island, shaping the country's reputation for producing some of the world's finest rums. The sugar content of the frozen coconut water ice sphere melts slowly to expertly balance the dryness of our Brugal 1888 rum. Highlighting and bringing the different notes of the white American oak barrels used in the aging process to the fore. A simple yet mouth-watering serve that’s slightly sweetened.By 1976, with Extraviejo, the company developed the Premium rum segment in Dominican Republic. In 1998 Brugal & Co. launched Brugal Limón, Brugal Pasión and Unico. [1] In 2005, the company launched 5-liter steel dispensing barrels for its medium and low-tier brands. Today, the chairman George Arzeno Brugal and most of the board members are direct descendants of the founder of the company. Flor de Caña is located less than five miles away from San Cristobal Volcano, the tallest and most active volcano in Nicaragua. And while this might not impact the flavor, we still think this is pretty cool. Its 18-year-old expression matured at a minimum of eighteen full years. It has a balanced flavor profile and is known for its notes of candied nuts, toffee, vanilla, and gentle spices. All with a long, warming finish. The Brugal Foundation's dedication to bringing out the best of its land and people is reflected in its ongoing environmental and community initiatives, which aim to improve the lives of thousands of Dominicans. As pioneers of philanthropy in the Dominican Republic, the Foundation's work is widely recognized and celebrated through the annual Brugal Cree en su Gente Awards, which have supported hundreds of charity institutions in making their projects come true. This piece is a heartfelt interpretation of Miguel Ripoll, or Miguelito, as he is affectionately known. A fifth-generation member of the Brugal family and a Maestro Ronero, Miguel has followed in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, presiding over the entire rum-making process, from harvesting and fermenting the sugarcane to distilling and ageing the rum to perfection. Miguel holds a deep understanding of the science and art of rum-making as well as a refined palate for identifying the unique flavours and aromas of each batch. The community of people who make up both brands are also celebrated, as they have woven together their expertise and passions to create something that continues to be enjoyed and marvelled from every corner of the world. And, of course, the legacy of each brand's respective precious material, Brugal 1888 rum and 24K gold leaf mosaic, are showcased in stunning detail.
