With the Bushbox LF you are completely independent, as it can be used in many different ways and is suitable for natural solid fuels (twigs, branches, leaves, charcoal, animal dung) as well as for spirit burners (e.g. Trangia), Esbit tablets, gel cookers, etc. In fact to show how much I enjoy and use this product....I will tell you....If Bushcraft Essentials ever stops making this product for some unimaginable reason, and I somehow am parted with mine ( over my cold dead body) and can not replace it..... I will fly to Germany and have very strong words with the owner/creator....keep that in mind Detlev, mein bruder. lol B. microphylla japonica'Winter Gem'is 4 to 6 feet tall with a similar spread. The cultivar's name comes from the pleasing gold and bronze tinges of its foliage in winter. These have been lifted from the ground while dormant, with little or no soil around their roots. Various plants may be available bare root, including fruit trees, hedging plants and some perennials. They are generally cheaper than plants in containers, but are only available in winter/early spring, while dormant bare-root or root-balled plants, without containers, which tend to be cheaper than plants in containers. They are available mainly from specialist hedging suppliers online. Bare-root plants are available in winter, for immediate planting. Some suppliersalso sell trays of well-rooted cuttings. A slow-growing, dense shrub with small dark-green leaves. It works well as a hedging plant. Lonicera nitida I have been a long-time user of wood-burning stoves and have owned most of the common ones on the market at the present time.......None have quite fitted into the niche of my requirements...UNTIL NOW that is. Bushcraft Essentials stoves require almost no care and maintenance but be sure to keep the stove free from dirt and wipe it down from time to time. P. buxi requires wounds for infection and is associated with environmental stress or clipping in wet weather. It is not a serious disease and improving cultural conditions will usually lead to plant recovery. Diseased branches should be pruned out when the foliage is dry, and old fallen leaves removed from the interior of affected plants. Box rust To help avoid the problem, try not to clip plants too often so they grow a bit looser and air can circulate easily. Also avoid growing other plants too close to them, and try not to get water on the plants when watering. It’s a good idea not to trim box when wet weather is forecast. Some varieties seem more blight-resistant than others, such as B. microphylla ‘Faulkner’ and B. microphylla var. japonica ‘National’. Alternatives to box (buxus) New shoots turnpale brown and papery in spring– probably frost damage, as young growth is particularly vulnerable. This insect causes the leaves to become cup-shaped and in spring there are splashes of a waxy white material on the foliage which can also be blown around in the wind. In most cases this insect can be tolerated as it has a very limited effect on plant growth. Cooking above the heat source via the grill plate is also a very excellent option, that I would suggest to anyone that wishes to cook in this manner. Box Rust is a very mild condition where some foliage can be affected by a rust coloured blister.
