Ultraspire Fitted Race Belt:The best way to carry your phone and goods on the run. No bounce and various sizes for waist. (Also recommend the Naked belt) The outsole has provided solid traction on a variety of road and light trail surfaces. The extensive rubber has little wear after 30 miles of use and I expect to get an average number of miles out of a training shoe from the GT-1000 11. The traction is decent on wet road and average for a road shoe on mild trails. I would not take this shoe on any technical trail, but for well-groomed smooth trails this will be fine. WHAT’S NEW ON VERSION 11 Midsole: The first key change between this model and the old model is the distinctively softer midsole. ASICS have kept the same foam (Flytefoam) as the previous version, but have lowered its density so that it’s softer on foot. Delivering softer landings than you would expect from stability shoes, Asics GT 1000 11 also cradles the heel, lets feet breathe thanks to a jacquard mesh upper, and has good traction in all weather conditions. We measured the widest part of the toebox at 98.2 mm which is right at the average of road running shoes. The problem is that it gets considerably narrow around the toes.

Weight: The shoe has shed approx. 10g on this version, it also feels more streamlined and less chunky on foot. Skratch Recovery, Coffee Flavor:Mental and physical boost post run. Coffee flavor is excellent and goes great straight into a fresh brewed cup That said, one of the best predictors we have right now of whether a running shoe will work for you is by how comfortable it is (Nigg et al., 2015). Looking for all the biomechanical details can be complicated, especially for the newer runner. So to keep things simple, if you have a history of injuries that have been linked to some degree to pronation (see above), you may want to consider a stability shoe. If you put one on, test it and its comfortable, it is more likely that it will work for you. That still requires learning what your body likes and what shoes work best, but using the comfort scale may help both simple things and provide runners the freedom to experiment and try things! So, as long as the outsole doesn't start peeling away from the foam, the rubber itself should last many miles.

Before buying the Asics GT-1000 11

Stability structure: We know that the GT-1000 11 is a stability shoe and with that comes a stability structure on the medial side of the shoe. On this model they’ve changed this structure. And adopted what’s called Litetruss. Litetruss is still a dual density like Duomax (in previous model), which helps prevent your arch from collapsing. But it’s less harsh underfoot. There isn’t a high rubber medial wall, nor a plastic shank at the bottom of this new one – which not only saves weight but makes it feel less invasive under the arch. Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Water Bottle: Perfect for long runs when you need hydration in the summer While many will point to the snug fit, which makes it less ideal for wider feet, this can be remedied by going up half a size. And, for a pretty low price point, there’s a lot to like about this all-day comfortable trainer. Asics’ entry-level stability shoe is a mildly cushioned and responsive shoe that presents excellent value for money for easy everyday running.

Named after Grand Tour cars for its performance and comfort combination, the ASICS GT-1000 is a moderately cushioned, mild-stability offering with a competitive price tag. It sits inside ASICS’ comprehensive stability range which include shoes like: the Gel-Kayano, GT-2000, GT-4000 and DS Trainer. As I mentioned, the GT-1000 is a mild stability offering, meaning that like any other stability shoe it offers medial arch support to reduce the rate of pronation, however, it does so less aggressively or milder than other stability shoes. It’s moderately cushioned frame segments itself as a daily trainer that is less cushioned than the Gel-Kayano and GT-2000, but is usually more pace versatile for the agile runner. The GT-1000’s competitive price tag is achieved by being a middle-of-the-range tiered product – one that doesn’t have the brand’s latest technology but still consist of great build quality. Tech Specs The brand holds its mark even in a budget-friendly shoe like the GT 1000 11. We found the shoe's outsole rubber to be pretty hard-wearing. With a durometer measurement of 85.5 HC, it turns out to be firmer than average!

The Asics GT 1000 range is designed for runners with mild to moderate overpronation, and this new pair fits the bill perfectly. The GT 1000 11 gives mild support through the LITETRUSS technology in the midsole while being unobtrusive enough that neutral runners can enjoy it, too. As with the previous model of the popular series, the manufacturer makes the upper material from engineered mesh. Thanks to a few modifications, the fibres conduct moisture outwards even more effectively. The constant ventilation keeps your feet dry even during intensive exertion and permanent breathability is guaranteed. In addition to its robust nature, the upper material also offers the necessary stability. For more freedom of movement, more elastic fabric has been incorporated in the forefoot area.
