While you're bouncing on a spring, you will need to press for a high jump before pressing it again to throw the Moo downward towards the boss's weak spot, which is its head (found between the two shells protecting it from the side). If you are familiar with the Spindle enemies from earlier in the game, you will have a better understanding of how this boss fight works. The original game – Klonoa: Door To Phantomile– came out in 1997 at a time when platformers were going through an identity crisis. Two paths were forged. There was the Super Mario 64 way of doing things with large open worlds to explore and the Crash Bandicoot method offering up 2.5D worlds to traverse. Klonoa: Door To Phantomile was a fantastically compelling example of the latter. Well designed, it drew you in before challenging you a ton in the later stages. The remaster delivers a hit of nostalgia, but also that same sense of challenge. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the first title in the series, we are pleased to announce the release of the KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series, a remastered title combining both KLONOA: Door to Phantomile and KLONOA 2: Lunatea’s Veil! a b Vogel, Mitch (July 13, 2022). The graphics have received an elegant revamp while Klonoa's beloved world and classic gameplay have been faithfully preserved.

Kidfunkadelic83 ah right I get it now, thanks. Well, I mean now I get what the real issue is (it’s actually the number of Platinums that’s the problem, not the number of trophy lists), although personally I’d still say ‘so what’ if you only get 1 Platinum instead of 2. It would never impact my purchasing decision, and isn’t the fun meant to be acquiring the trophies themselves? But I won’t keep going on about what I think of the whole trophy nonsense! 😀 Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a compilation featuring remastered versions of the platform video games Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil. While Door to Phantomile was originally released on the PlayStation in 1997, the remaster is built from its 2008 Wii remake. [2] Lunatea's Veil is based on its original 2001 PlayStation 2 version. [2] The games have been remastered with improved visuals and sound. Lane, Gavin (February 9, 2022). "Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series Brings Two Classic Platformers To Switch In July". NintendoLife . Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the first title in the series, we are pleased to announce the release of the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, a remastered title combining both Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil! With both games, everything is suitably charming and fun, but a touch shallow. If you love platformers, you’ll have a good time but it’s not the longest of experiences with each game taking about 5-6 hours to complete. This wouldn’t be an issue if Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series was a well-constructed remaster but it’s pretty basic. There are improved graphics and a new easy mode, but there’s little else here. A new two-player co-op option helps a little but it’s fairly basic and only really suitable if you want to team up with a younger member of the family as the second player doesn’t get much to do. Folgaran the Armor Beast is the first boss that will be fought throughout the game's story at the top of Claire Moa Temple, which is the next level that occurs after completing La-Lakoosha ~Sacred Grounds~ for the first time. There’s also the music. It has a sort of melancholic and eerie vibe to it, quite unusual at times and very different to what you normally get with platformers of the time, which I really liked. Bandai Namco is re-releasing two beloved Klonoa side-scrollers ( Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil) on modern platforms. The collection, called Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, is headed to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on July 8.
