While we’re on the topic of panel quality, the MAG321QR-QD is actually quite decent for video editing, thanks to its (relatively) good colour accuracy. They’re a touch slower and more likely to result in ghosting, though companies have gotten quite good at driving VAs to be fast enough for competitive gaming. In fact, MSI quotes a response time of 1ms, which is identical to competitive TN panels. The high refresh rate and FreeSync/G-Sync made movement feel extra smooth. There was no screen tearing whatsoever. Battlefield is a “rough and tumble” game series, as you’re often diving onto the ground and whipping your weapon around in big arcs when on the move. It’s important that the screen be fast enough to avoid motion blur or otherwise distorting the image. The MAG 321CQR did a good job here and stayed clear enough that I never once felt hindered. As far as I can tell, the Nvidia G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium support can minimise screen tearing quite well too, even in fast-paced games. The gaming monitor market in Malaysia, especially in the sub-RM2,000 range, is quite competitive. Plenty of brands offer monitors with great value for money in this price range, so it can be tough to stand out in this segment. But for the MSI Optix MAG321QR-QD, it has plenty of qualities to love.
