Description

Mr. Mean is the 19th book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Mean is a miser who never spends a penny of his money. He is so mean he gives his brother a piece of coal for Christmas. One day a wizard starts disguising himself as a number of people in need. Each time Mr. Mean rejects helping them, a spell is placed on a part of his body, such as his nose turning into a carrot, and his ears turning into tomatoes. He gives help when he realizes his feet are about to fall under a spell. Then he spends his money, and now he gives his brother two pieces of coal for Christmas. Mr. Mean appears under the titles Mr. Stingy (USA), Monsieur Avare (French), Don Tacañete (Spanish), Unser Herr Geizig (German), 구두쇠씨 (Korean), Senhor Cruel (Portuguese), 吝嗇先生 (Taiwan), Ο Κύριος Τσιγκούνης (Greek), Meneertje Gierig (Dutch). Mr Brave is the first of the posthumous Mr Men books by Roger Hargreaves. Hargreaves died in 1988, two years before it published. The previous Mr Man book, Mr Slow, had published 12 years earlier. Mr Slow is a good one, and so the series had ended on a high.

We see this as the last opportunity to say how much they appreciated the amount of support they received and for people to show how much Ethan touched their lives." Mr. Happy is the 3rd book in the Mr. Men series. Mr. Happy discovers Mr. Miserable (who looks exactly like him) and helps him become happy.

Rhymes on a Dime: When using her magic in both the 1995 TV series and 2008 Mr. Men Show, Little Miss Magic often uses long rhyming incantations as she does so.

His story is neither a look into his life nor a cautionary tale, but a straightforward Christmas Special. He is now a character in The Mr. Men Show, during its second season. He almost looks the same, but his flower and gloves are absent and has a white and red polka-dotted bow tie, his hat is also bent and he has Mr. Rude's nose, only it's red. In the show, Mr. Funny never spoke, and all of his sketches are done in mime and he acts like a clown, his only noises being the sounds of horns and whistles, similar to comedian Harpo Marx. Go-Karting with Bowser: Despite her tendency to play pranks on the other Mr. Men and Little Misses, she is occasionally shown taking part in special occassions or going on holidays with them. Mr. Brawler · Mr. No · Little Miss Brilliant · Little Miss Busy-Body · Little Miss Carefree · Little Miss Careful · Little Miss Loud · Little Miss Pretty · Little Miss Prim · Little Miss Show-Off · Little Miss Yes

In the French dub of Mr. Men and Little Miss, he is voiced by a woman, thus giving him the voice of a prepubescent boy. Insane Troll Logic: Mr. Nonsense does this a lot, naturally. When asked why he likes oatmeal on toast, he replies, "Because I tried oatmeal sandwiches and I didn't like them!" When asked why he sleeps in a rowboat, he replies, "Because I tried sleeping in a motorboat but it was too uncomfortable!" Non-Indicative Name: Though he can be a Jerkass, he's primary personality trait is meant to be stinginess, as his story is about him refusing to spend his money to renovate his house and buy things for others. His name's changed to "Mr. Stingy" in the USA as a result.

Aesop Enforcer: He helps teach Little Miss Brave about resilience in ''Mr. Men, Little Miss: Try Again. Moral: Being fearless and being brave are very different. Bravery means to persevere even when you're scared. Bizarrchitecture: Averted. His house is arguably the most normal-looking house in Misterland, with the only bizarre thing about it being how dilapidated it is due to him refusing to spend his money renovating it. In Little Miss Dotty Has A Dotty Day out, she is the one who states that she's hungry and asks what they should eat during their day out to the beach.Go-Karting with Bowser: Despite his tendency to play pranks on the other Mr. Men and Little Misses, he is occasionally shown taking part in special occassions or going on holidays with them. Mr. Rude is rude to everyone, as his name suggests. He insults a man with a big nose and an overweight woman. To the overweight woman he says "Fatty! You're supposed to eat the things in the fridge, not eat the fridge as well!" However, when Mr. Happy comes to stay with him for a while, Mr. Rude begins to develop manners and gives Mr. Happy meals, though as we can tell by the end of the book, he still has some rudeness within himself as he burps. Little Miss Calamity · Little Miss Daredevil · Mr. Scatterbrain · Mr. Stubborn · Mr. Metal · Little Miss Strong · Ghost · Caveman · Mummy · Cave-Nosey · Cave-Small · Mr. Rude's family · Mr. Fussy's unnamed relative · Loretto the Venus Flytrap In Mr. Greedy Goes To A Dinner Party, she lays out a huge banquet for afternoon tea. Too bad Mr. Greedy gets to it before she can take a single morsel. Oddball in the Series: The only "negative" Mr. Man who ends his story learning nothing and not changing for the better in any way. This is because the people around him essentially gaslight him into thinking he's doing everything right by constantly telling him he's doing a good job. As a result, he remains just as a muddled as he's always been, if not more.
