This brilliantly crafted story was inspired by the century homes of Shaker Heights, OH, and two real murders, and a rumor, plus a vacant home she toured in 2008. You will be Googling! The author also includes some fascinating research at the end of the book and even floor plans. Her writing is some of the BEST. Weaver’s storytelling and ‘in depthness!! ( made up word I think ) of information/research into missing people and everything that surrounds this phenomenon ( for various reasons ) is outstanding and meticulous and a pleasure to read Things start going bump in the night, weird images showing up on their cameras. Yeah..nope! As they unearth the house's extensive history it became even more intriguing. The house had a history of three different families throughout the decades. Oh what a history it was. Blitzwing just stands around while the Autobots attempt to plot his downfall using a football huddle. Is he arrogant or just plain crazy? Yes. So, as you will gather there’s an undercurrent from the off, with Raker keen to keep Healy under wraps, and Healy chafing at being kept in the shadows and on the sidelines. Because it’s a case that he’s been quietly investigating which Raker is now about to take on – and what a case!

The main inspiration behind the song was Gaga’s fear of suffocation as she felt that she seldom found time to just let loose and have fun. The police investigation ground to a halt some time ago, but Raker and Healy are determined to get to the truth. Trouble is, that’s about to put them into all manner of danger and could lead to the pair’s deception finally being uncovered. Why put your own future in jeopardy for the sake of a tasty conundrum? For some folk, threats and physical violence would be enough to make you decide it’s time to shut up shop and move on, but this is Raker we’re talking about, and he’s like a dog with a bone, not prepared to let it go. This story focuses on another mystery one that was just so fascinating and is what initially captured my attention and this had so many twists and turns at times I felt absolutely giddy. I found No One Home to be an engrossing, frustrating, full-on read that is a great addition to the David Raker catalogue. If you enjoy a book that keeps you guessing, grab a copy.

Bulkhead launching Prowl at Blitzwing is remarkably similar to the " Fastball Special" maneuver from the X-Men comics, in which Colossus uses his super-strength to launch Wolverine at villains. Bumblebee leaks oil in a manner that is analogous to either blood or bodily waste. The Constructicons find said oil delicious. He adds: “No one leaves home if the hurt that will come is greater than the hurt that they will leave behind. No one leaves if the ocean will swallow them up. No one leaves home, if there is peace. As a refugee there is only ever half of you in one place; because you have left of you where you have come from, and half of you is rejected where you arrive.”

I did enjoy most of the characters and the different time levels. And the plot itself wasn’t half bad either. In brief - Tense, pacey, twisty. Not the best Raker for me but far from the worst. 4.5 out of 5 but it's Raker so rounded up ☺️.I've been a bit harsh on this book, it's generally readable but I also think that it's one you could put down in the middle and forget about entirely. Too ambitious and not enough substance.
