Description

When someone arrives at your home, your front door is one of the first things that they’ll see. A tired, faded front door can make even the most beautiful of homes seem a little neglected. Clean the surface with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly or use an appropriate solvent (follow manufacturer’s instructions). Leave the surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours. Application of Polytrol Color Restorer General directions Maintenance is due when a Polytrol treated surfaces shows signs of fading. Prepare and re-treat surfaces as directed above. Clean Up However, surfaces exposed to high UV and weathering (such as by the sea) will require it more often, whereas surfaces that do not have this type of extreme exposure won’t require another application for potentially 24+ months. Where can I buy Polytrol from?

Any left over Polytrol should be transferred to a smaller, airtight, closed metal or glass container and kept from freezing and high temperatures. Do you have samples of Polytrol? Through damage caused by the elements, the soft surface of the gelcoat is eroded and can leave it looking chalky and dull in its appearance. However, restoring your gelcoat is one of the easiest boat tasks that you can undertake and is easy to do yourself. Owatrol Polytrol helps to restore the colour and appearance of dull and faded surfaces caused by exposure to sunlight, rain and pollution. After this, it’s time to wipe off any excess product with a clean, lint-free cloth. Leave it to dry Apply Polytrol liberally to the surface, allow the Polytrol to work for 10-20 minute and then remove excess Polytrol with a clean lint free polishing cloth. Allow at least 12 hours for the product to dry.

Application of Marine Polytrol Color Restorer

Polytrol is a deep penetrating oil which restores the original colour and appearance of dull or tarnished plastics, gelcoats, metals, and other surfaces. Simple to apply using a cloth or soft brush, it’s ready to wipe off in just 10 minutes! It can be used on both horizontal and vertical surfaces and can even be used on fibreglass (GRP). Polytrol dries to a tough and long-lasting flexible finish which does not leave a film – so it won’t peel or flake. Clean any tools used with white spirit. Marine Polytrol is non-flammable, however, any rags, steel wool etc. soaked in Marine Polytrol may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Rags, steel wool etc must be saturated with water after use or placed in a sealed, water-filled metal container, before disposing of them with household waste. Rags may be laid flat and air-dried before discarding. Things to Remember

Had to wait for a dullish warm day before carrying out my work as not recommended to apply this product in direct sunshine!!Although we didn’t have any mildew on the door, if you do, don’t worry. Mildew can be treated with a 50:50 bleach and water solution. Just scrub it on, leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off. We hope these Polytrol FAQ’s were helpful.
