Mark used to swear by this brand for all his fakeaway-style cooking, but we haven’t used it in years. Now, it’s suddenly gluten-free – it even has a gluten-free label on the front! After some research, I learned they were made from “urid flour” (aka. urad flour) but couldn’t find either urad flour or “urid lentils” anywhere here in Spain. I gave up on the idea for a while until…. Plus, once the uncooked papadums are dried, they can be stored away for future use! As long as they are completely dry (to the point of being hard and brittle), they can be stored in a well-sealed, cool, dry place for quite some time. (Probably months, as long as they are thoroughly dried!) These are as delicious on their own as they are with chutneys like mango. They may be eaten before or after a meal, and they go well with almost any food. It's a light and refreshing menu dish that goes well with dipping sauces and chutneys. There’s tons of gluten-free sausages in Tesco, so I thought I’d just include one to remind you! They’re usually the Finest range, as cheaper options are usually full of wheat.Indian Onion Chutney– This cold red onion dip goes well with Poppadums. It is made with onions with spices and mixing them with a tomato-based sauce.
